Overall sounds great when you get on it!!!
Post some video of your setup if you can. I'm curious on sound differnece of long tubes and shorties.

I too would love to see video! But I'm thinking comparing a setup like mine and Blackbee's with shorties, to one like yours OUR BEE might be a tad misleading b/c of how much smoother and toned the resonated X pipe makes the sound. (just watch my reving video versus the one magnaflow youtube video of the rally yellow car I posted on the sticky page for refrence. Same exact exhaust, but the non-X setup definitely has more growl and with shorties would probably sound amazing!).

Although I love the tone, I'm almost wondering if not doing the resonated X, and instead waiting for shorties (now that blackbee has mentioned they seem to lessen cabin drone themselves) would have been the best choice for me?? Oh wells...may never know! lol

But that said, I still wish I could hear the difference the shorties make!

Are you still running the stock resonators along with the resonated X ? I still have my stock resonators along with 2 1/4 midpipe. Was thinking of installing BBK x pipe with 2 1/2 pipe, but am thinking it will get to loud.

Just sitting here eating lunch so I thought I'd chime in. I had the same thoughts on the xpipe now that the shorties or on. The shorties helped with the boom of the exhaust but not as much as the x pipe did. Remove that and it would be somewhere in between as to effect? Hard to say. I dodn't know that I will try it as the car sounds great when the hammer is down and is better around town and don't want to go in the wrong direction as far as the "boom" is concerned.I haven't been able to hammer it much to compare do to the traffic in L.A. and no roads open enough to do it on, maybe SAT as we are going to the BBK meet.
On the other post I still have the 2-1/4 pipes and resonators also, 2-1/2 all mfg's say will lose power on v6 but with lt's maybe do o.k.?
Baylorairforce just put them on with lt's and said not much sound change but helped with the lt rasp, which I don't have with shorties.

^ Sweet I'll be at the BBK meet also. So I guess I'll be able to hear your exhaust in person.

Wow...so I know this might be a lot to ask, but is there any way at all one of you could get video of blackbee's setup at the meet? OUR BEE, you have camera experience with this....so if you had the time could you do it?? Maybe bring the camera you've used so far and get a couple clips??

I humbly request videos of start up, idle from front/back, and different speed drive-bys, on all these setups, so get ready to work .

But seriously, they should actually do what you did, for themselves, on all the different combos of equipment, so long as one part is theirs.

PS, I posted a request for this in the BBK meet thread, in case BBK or others can help doing this.

Thats cool. I hope OURBEE has the good camera, I'm taking our old digital Kodak but it isn't that good and has a chipped lense so pictures are not good now.
And wow, you guys coming from LV! That will be a long day in the saddle!

It was good, around 40 showed up,had a great drive there at 80+, even the smart cars!. 23 dyno'd but was 95 out and dry so numbers were possibly down a bit. We didn't get any vids of our setups really unless in the general ones people will put up. I talked with Ourbee and listed to his at idle and sounded quiet like mine and same tone but a little louder. The heat I think killed his numbers and others but got better later on maybe, cant tell for sure. His were 255 or so, Laker71 had 253 with only injen and magnaflow catback, his stock was 243 but in cool rainy weather but same dyno. Another was at 255 and had been 263 in the cool rainy weather, ingen, jba shorties and catback. luis' car did 255 or 259 with only intake.
Top dogs were the blown SS's, best was 613 then I think 507,and 495. top boltons was the one who organised this event and did 407 I think. We got free hats, shirts and a tour and finished up after 3 pm. I didn't dyno do to the heat and am saving that for the fall at my usual place to get "normal" numbers.

I will tell you everytime I see the beasts at our events or on dyno's I am tempted to go to the dark side and get an ss!! I fired up my 98 and revved her up this weekend and that just made it worse! No wonder I dont drive it! But My practical side comes back and one day in traffic shows how good and efficient the v6 is and any more power is a waste. But that little devil keeps whispering

^ I had a good time. Was cool to meet all the So Cal members. I was disapointed with my dyno. I think it dynoed at 253 HP 236 TQ. I knew I would be losing some power with the heavier 22" rims, but thought I would be at least in the 260 range. Like Blackbee mentioned there was a V6 with just a CAI that dynoed at around 255 HP later on in the day were the temp may have dropped a little bit. The dyno operator at BBK said a probally lost 10 to 12 HP with my rims.

Well, I wouldn't get overly dissapointed. I heard it was hot as heck that day right? So even if you did lose a few horse with the rims, you can bet the weather cost you another 10+. Maybe dyno again when its in the 50s or 60s for a more optimal run.

Did you happen to hear blackbee's car?
