Ya, make sure you go to Back Street Performance (RichJ)!

First thing we did, was eat

Then we had some classroom time on understeer & oversteer, then proper cornering & braking.

Next we went out and spun the skid car in circles they control the tire contact & MAKE you skid with and understeer or oversteer, or both....so you put into practice what you learned in the classroom...

Then we moved to our cars and did a couple laps on the autocross course behind the instructor. Then we went four cars at a time on the course for a while. Then as an individual for a timed event for a prize.

After that, was actual track time behind the instructor....every 2 laps the car behind the instructor was put the the rear on the back straight. That way everyone got to see the proper lines of the track.

Once everyone got a turn, we came in to the pits and they checked to make sure everyone was good to go back out.

We went back out for a single lap each behind the instructor.....We had about an hour of straight track time, it was great.

Then we all went up to the 5th floor for lunch and talks.....

We went home

Awesome, Awesome day

Put me down, I'm in for next year,

Keep the date for this time of year, great weather with the cool morning and warm afternoon.

Nice photos of us on the track.

Can't believe I did well on that autocross, my first time at that. Must have been running those Malibu cars as a teenager. Better give some credit to Cincy Speed and Pfadt Racing for all the suspension work. The car turned on a dime and never lost traction.

My tires look good, but not as good as yours....you were the first person I thought of after the first few hard runs on the autocross section when I stopped and looked at my tires....

Stock rubber worked and hooked VERY NICE!

This is what the tires look like now after driving 60 miles back home. They looked a lot better at the track

Proof that you can run a track day and NOT ruin your tires, but your do go home with a bit of sidewall decoration that says: Racer's do it in the corners!

I was usually behind SilverIceman on the track who has a Edelbrock supercharger and Pfadt suspension (springs, sways, more). I did fairly well keeping up with him with my stock Camaro but he consistently pulled ahead through turns 5 & 13.

I wonder if it was suspension mods or driver skill that made the most difference?

SilverIceman was very smooth on the autocross area, so I would say it was both the driver & the suspension. I don't thing the supercharger had anything to do with it. We never got "turned loose" for the accumulation of laps to happen.

I know my Pedders Springs felt great. did exaclty what I wanted, when I wanted, and very predictable & reliable. Plus RichJ & his son Erik (the one in the Miata) put a little bit of Camber & toe in my car.......MY CAR FELT AWESOME!!! Even when I got into a couple oversteer situations on the autocross, I was able to make it work out.

In both those turns I knew we had straight stretches following and could accelerate. Most of the turns on the track are combined with the next turn so entry position and controlled speed are critical. On the two Heinz mentioned I set myself up to hit the apex of those curves and started accelerating as much as I could out of the curves before hitting the straight aways. I do think the boosted engine helped me for sure coming out of those curves. I would say I had more torque in third gear in those situations. I got one or two glances at my boost gauge and was in full boost at those times. But the rear never let loose. Almost every time on the long backstretch I had to let off speed due to the cars ahead. Good thing

In the autocross, I would not think the boost had any effect as we really couldn't push the throttle enough to matter. Like I said to Jim afterwards, on my timed run I actually tried to use less throttle and more positioning.

Now the suspension. I have to say the car was always tight and never felt any understeer or looseness in the rear. Wish I had done this on my car with the stock suspension first so I'd know the difference.

Heinz really did well keeping right behind me, except coming out of those two turns. This either says a lot about his driving or the stock car's suspension. Or Both

Thanks for posting the layout, now I can prepare for next year's
