All I have to say is the Mustang / Camaro War has begun.........

From this moment on Ford and Chevy will flip flop every year as to who has the most HP.......

It's just good old fationed competition.....No matter who is on top when we as the consumers will continue to get great Cars that go Real Fast......

I am curious as to what chevy has for 2012 though...they are pretty tight lipped these days??????

HP war's are now over that Ford delivered the death blow with the Boss 302 LS. I honestly can't see Chevy coming anywhere close to the performance and specs of the 2012 Boss 302 Laguna Secca in the future.

If they do then that's great, but the direction that GM is going now days id doesn't look good for a super light weight, NA track only Camaro with rear seat delete, fully forged engine with new heads, cam, intake manifold with special race only keys.

GM has the parts just sitting arounds in bins and could easily build something similar but they probably wont, and will just slap some CTS-V parts on their current SS and call it a day.

I think that all depends on the near future of GM and the direction of their finances. Right now, I highly doubt GM will make a car to compete directly with the Boss, but the Boss, at least for the moment, is not going to be marketed in large quantities. I think if the boss is massively successful, GM will make something to compete. Maybe a ZL1, lightweight camaro. That would be bad ass. This boss is going to dominate the SCCA for a while though and if chevy ever offers a competitor, it would be very fun to see the two american cars destroying the competition.

It's a hell of a price difference between a z06 and one of these. Shit, it's a hell of a price difference between a c6 and one of these. Ford said it will be priced between the gt500 and GT, so I'd assume high 30's as the base price. I can assure you nothing (that is currently available) will compete on the track with this car for the money. The closest will probably be the c6 or gt500 and they will be priced considerably higher than this car.

Your High!

the Boss is gonna cost more than all the other mustangs...its exclusive!!

Guys relax....buy a base vette....cam it/ headers and coilovers conversion
make it a 1lt no nav no nothing..
6sp NPP exhausted car...

SHALL WE PLAY A GAME?

It is war. Time to take out the BIG GUNS.

2 passenger Mustang.....meet your old Nemisis, that has not ever gone away. The C6 Corvette....most bang/ dollar!

I've seen enough LS3 spin to 6800 to know it can be done....and in a lighter car with far more torque...please..this Mustang supremacy thing is laughable.

The Vette is the final word...i see nothing Ford has to answer the call of the Zo6 cf / or the Zr1

let them play in the intermediate section of cars.

the boss is NOT going to cost more than all the other mustangs - you need to do a little research before you spout off.

Here, read this article and then you will be less ignorant. the boss's will be between $35 and $50 grand.

http://www.insideline.com/ford/musta...limelight.html

A much better deal than a Z06 - msrp is approx $75,000 - a little higher.

Well, yes in fact I am high, but you're simply wrong. Sorry pal. Ford has officially stated that it will be priced between the gt500 and the GT and they haven't decided how many will be produced, it will be based on sales and interest on the initial cars. The fact that you compare the c6 to a mustang is just proof of a fantastic product from Ford.

no he's not high. ford has said and keeps on saying, the boss will fit in between the GT500 and GT. the problem here will be the dealers, since only 4000 will be released a year and 500 being LS models.2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302 dealer allocation will be limited, determined by sales and lottery.
