You can't actually buy the car at Costco, but they get members a decent discount on new vehicles through select car companies.

I've bought my 2500 HD GMC, my dads toyota tundra, and my moms sequoya? i think thats how u spell it anyway, if you have membership you go on the website type in your memb. number type in your info. on the car you want and they find it and show u the dealers that have it or can get it for u, at the price that they give you, no hassle, no haggle and the dealership cant give you any crap and you can finance with who ever you want, the only problem is you cant order a cam until they come out, i was thinking of putting down a deposit with the dealer ship to get the car here and then buy it through costco but i dont think they'll go for it because they dont make any money since you get it a little over invoice "yes invoice not MSRP" i've done it three times so trust me. Hope this helps!

I would help in any scenario where allocation wasn't already allotted. There is no way Costco gets an allocation now before September and no way any dealer gives up one or more vehicles in theirs so Costco can sell a car at invoice. No way.

So I wonder who Costco is contracted with - the dealer or GM. If it's GM the Camaro my appear sooner with dealers forced to accept the price, but I agree most dealers are going to be reluctant to let them go for near invoice for a long time, probably well into 2010. If you're not in a hurry it sounds like a good deal.

Production of saleable units for the captured test fleet actually started in December. Cars have been rolling off the line since then. However, production of ordered vehicles won't start until 2/16. So, it is unlikely that you will see any cars at dealers until March unless something major is announced at the IDL session this week.

What? No... production starts Feb 16th.

If you're referring to oshawainsider's post, he was talking about the pilot cars. Nothing is being built at the moment and that's when they get back to building those.

Sorry for the mass multi-quote.

But I wanted to summarize what's been said here.

The Camaro line is up and running producing 5 or so captive test fleet, or production intent cars a day. GM has said that between now and Feb 9th that they would reduce production by 250K units company wide. But that would not affect the Camaro numbers between now and the start of regular production. Regular production will begin on Feb 16th. So, I don't see them ramping up production early allowing us to see many cars before March.

In short, we are not aware of any schedule changes to the Camaro. As of now it is on time.
