Sadly, it doesn't look like my car will be ready for this weekend either...there's been no progress, as we are still waiting on the cam to come in. The new (second set) of lifters are in, but we can't button her up without the new cam.

So...I'm in hold mode. This sucks...I really miss my car. :(

I was really hoping to have it back by today. Kind of a special day for me and Cindy. We're celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary (married 21 Sep 85!). I'm on leave from work the rest of this week to celebrate with Cindy, but with no Camaro.

The upside is that Cindy and I will be checking in for two glorious days at the J.W. Marriott Hill Country Resort and Spa, starting tomorrow afternoon. That should soften the impact of not having my RJT to drive around. But I have to admit...the prospect of arriving at the resort in a red HHR is...well...(shudder).

At least it will have a bowtie in the front!

Congrats on 25 years of marriage Pete! the J.W. is GORGEOUS I'm sure you guys will love it... my husband had to deliver some stuff there while they were building it and he got the grand tour right before they opened... that place is massive! (sorry about your car though.. :( at least she'll be running nice and smooth again when you get her back... )

My car was out for a week, just got it back last Saturday. I know what you mean not driving it for a week. Now if would only stop raining for a day or so. Happy Anniversary!!! Have fun in the Hill Country. See you when you get back, hopefully with your Camaro.

Well, my friends, guess what?

No....Gunn does not yet have the part (cam) for my car...but they did arrange for me to drive a shiny new Camaro until I get mine back! It's a Silver Ice Metallic 1LS A6! It had 14 miles on it when I picked it up, so I'm literally the first Enterprise Rental customer to drive it. The only other miles on it are from the drive over from the dealership! Gotta luv the warranty! Gotta luv that "new car" smell!

Goodbye HHR--SOOOOOO much better!

Now Cindy and I will arrive in style at the JW Marriott today!!!!

My service manager is Anthony Flores. Yep...he's working hard to keep me happy, and I appreciate it!

Oh, and my Gunn salesman, Dan Greene (great guy, by the way!) called me the other day, just to check in and see how my cars are doing (I bought my Camaro and a used Honda from him). He has called once a month since I bought the car, just to say hello (never with a hard sales push to refer others his way or come buy another car--just a genuinely friendly guy and fellow retired Air Force member).

I told Dan about my Camaro being in the shop, and he said he would "keep an eye on it" for me. Tough to complain too much--they are taking care of me.
