Besides, why are people who have recently placed orders already getting this Welcome Kit. The first ones in should have been the first ones to receive this. Not the other way around.

Whether you believe them or not, it is an uncontrollable. What, are you going to get upset and tell them how you feel? I feel the girl I was talking to did the best she could with the info she had.

I do not feel they are producing orders yet. I ordered in the first week, then re-ordered in the second week at another dealer. I am pretty confident I will get my vehicle ahead of many, and if it takes a few extra weeks for the letter to get to me, so be it. I definitely will not take it out on some unsuspecting employee whos only fault might be to answer the phone when I called.

I know everyone is going out of their mind, but the end is in sight. If you ordered that means you understand the game you are playing in. Relax, breath, and support the CAMARO!

Everyone needs to calm down. First off there was no "promise" of any of these pictures or any other mailings (aside from a thank you letter). The holiday season just pssed, the company is getting restructured in all sorts of ways, people are being laid off, so I'd say maybe they just couldnt yank and print 10,000 mailers in 1 day. Its not as easy as it seems, trust me.

Everyone needs to calm down and be patient, you will get it eventually, who cares if its now or two weeks from now, the damn car won't be here till March at best anyway (16th plus time to ship etc). So big deal.

We are getting stir crazy here....

The sketch is just a cool little extra bit of paper I plan on framing with the rest of my Camaro paperwork, to me it's not that big of a deal.

What got me all fired up was the marketing rep implying that my dealer either had not properly placed my order, or mislead me about the allocated amount.
And generally just did not seem to be able to communicate what information she had very well.
I understand they are just reading from a script on their computer, but for the life of me it seemed this person could have cared less about doing their job, and was just in a hurry to get me off the line.

But on the bright side, at least she was not from India..


Just 40 days and 10 hours left till they start rolling off the line.
Can't wait for mine to get here, with or without the sketch.

im getting nervous that maybe they dont have my order. i placed mine back in october on the 13th. i havent gotten a letter yet and suposedly they were all sent out yesterday. whats up chevy?

Nope. She gives me everything to go through then shred. I would have thought this might be possible...but, i'm not the only one who has never got any letter

ok i have not gotten either letter as well. i called 1-800-950-chev today and talked to a lady who told me,

i see your order in the system and everything looks good, it was been approved and pulled, but it has not made to the second level of production status, you can keep checking back with the customer service in the warranty and recall area as they are the only ones who can look up by order number. she also told me to contact my dealer and make sure they have everything in order. so i did that, and my dealer said he would check with his region rep and get back to me. a few hrs later he called back and said, the rep told him that yes the order is good to go, and doesn't know why i was told that by chevy, but would have an answer to me by thursday morning or before.

so i would say call the 800 number above with your order number ready and talk to them.

p.s. she also said the holidays maybe to blame for some. so take this as you will, but try to get info for yourself, instead of getting uptight with others.

So, just out of curiosity, have any of you that have either gotten your second letter or had verbal confirmation from GM that your order has been pulled, had the IOM interior option on your order?

Ok, you didn't get told that you don't have a legitimate order did you? I did. I put my deposit down just like everyone else and I want some reasonable response by someone who knows what's going on. I didn't get that. I didn't show up on the 13th to find out 1-6-09 that my order might not even be in the system.

Nobody said they were mailing these out in 1 day. I called 2 weeks ago and got a totally different answer than I got yesterday. I was told to call back on the 6th and they would resend the "Welcome Kit" if I had not received it. You're right, there was no promise of getting anything, including the car per GMs own website. But they need to tell everyone the same thing and get the right answer. And we may or may not get the letter eventually, but the whole point is that they should have gone out in order as they were placed. I don't understand how you take pre-orders for something and then just randomly hand them out. Hell, let's just put the VINs out randomly as well starting with #100000 and go back. What about the people who still haven't gotten the first letter. What's the reason behind that? It's a FAIL all the way around. And it is easier than you think. It's a computer database printing and stuffing mailers. You don't think they have people sitting there doing it by hand do you?

+1 on all counts. And when you are directed to the dealer and then you call back, they still can't help you.

Again, I was told that until your order is pulled, which according to my SM, none of his that have received the second letter have been pulled, you will not be in the system and eligible to receive the letter. Honestly, I could care less about the letter, but if this is the case, the majority of people who ordered early are going to be the latest to receive their cars and that's not right. I hope this is not the case, but HEY, that's what the all-knowing people at GM are telling people right now.

Hey, I've tried to get the info..........they won't talk to you if they can't locate you in the system. I would like to ask one of you that have received the second letter to call your dealer and ask if your order has actually been pulled or if your order status is different than the preliminary order of what 1100? This would answer the pulled vs not pulled question once and for all.

I don't know where everyone else who commented on this subject is coming from but I would guess that there are a few that share my point of view on the subject.

I have not recieved any communication fron GM regarding my order since I placed it at the dealership on 10/24/08.

My dealer is generally that last to know anything, so relying on their replies to any questions is mostly well...questionable.

I really dont need a "welcome to the club" or "thank you" letter. It is more about a confirmation, or reassurance from GM that my dealer is not an idiot or screwing me somehow behind my back.

Just some kind of confirmation that they entered my order on the date that I placed it and that I am inline where I should be.
