Angry First oil change. First DENT !!!!

So, I take my car to the dealer for the first oil change at 2200 miles. Everything goes as normal until I walk out of the waiting room when I see my car pull up. The service manager walks over and says sir we got a small dent on your car. Immediately my mouth drops, I look at the car and right in the center of the drivers door is a dent!!! He proceeds to say the tech lost control of the door as a gust of wind blew through the shop and it hit the rack. I akm speechless to say the least. I park at the end of the parking lots and this is the last place I would ever expect to receive a dent. So the apologizing begins and now I'm just thinking about repair jobs I have seen in the past. He says his boss will be in contact Monday morning and now I will have to set up an appointment to get this fixed. Yes I have it in writing what is to be repaired. He even took pictures. I am so worried about my door not looking showroom new like it was I can't stand it. Just goes to show that no matter how hard you try to stay dent free it will happen at the most unusual place. Can't wait to see how this turns out.

A good dent person should be able to get it out. Unless it has a crease

That really sucks. First can you do your own oil change. I don't trust to many dealers to do much for me. Just for those type of reasons you described. Hassles that you should not have to go thru. Second, find a good dentless doctor, I did and he did a great job.

Good luck.

I did forget to mention that the paint is slightly broken and will require touch up. That is what bothers me the most. I have heard about the paintless dent repair. It's the paint touch up that bothers me.

These things happen. It can be fixed to look as if it never happened. I would also think that it will be done in house so there should be no hit on Carfax either.

Yes, insist they use a dent wizard and you will keep your factory paint.

Sorry man but kudos to your dealer. At least they were honest enough to come forward and admit it. Most others would not have reported it hoping you would not see it till you left at which point they could deny responsibility. I knew something was up once when a shop had the car turned on and "ready" for me - it was clear they wanted me to leave without inspecting it

Yes, I am glad they did point it out. My wife was quite upset and giving him an earful when he said "well at least I told you about it". I must say I was kinda surprised to hear that. How many times has it happened and the customer not been told....??
