2011 LS speed limiter???
So today I decided to take her above 100 got up to 118 and a warning and reduction on engine out put occurred. The display said max speed 118 I'm sure its a limiter chip but anyway to get rid of it?

It's due to the tires on the LS and LT cars without the higher speed-rated tires. You'll need a tune to get rid of it. Hope you were at a track....be careful, brother.

Yep an ls only has tires rated up to 118. If you tune it out you need 4 new tires beforehand.

Thanks guys what tires would u recommend getting I kind of like the heritage steel wheels and would like to keep using them

I looked at the bf goodrich tires too! More than double the price of the stock tires. I figured I don't need to go that fast so I'll keep my money for other mods like catback exhaust and an injen cai. The car needs more rumble it sounds kinda wimpy stock. Yeah yeah I know, it is a v6 after all.
