Relax, I thought it was pretty clear that this thread is about Random Things you MAY not know about your car. Obviously it will all be in the manual, but not everyone reads it cover to cover.

That made me roll...

Every page of the thread has the blinker thingy on it, and people are still..."did you know if you just tap the blinker..."

Read the book?!? Reading a complete page of the thread seems to be a more realistic goal.

If you hold down the unlock button do the windows roll down?

some cars do this when you hold the unlock button down or hold the key in the unlock position of the drivers door keyhole

This is true, also, if you play the song "Whiplash" by Metallica while driving, it will make your car go really fast!

sadly, no. My 97 Maxima and 99 Jetta both did that. I miss that. It was great on a hot day.

I tried to connect my ODB II code reader to the ODB II port under the dash and even after repeated trys it will not connect with my 2011 Camaro's computer. All I can get is a message saying "Connection Error". So I guess the new Camaro computers are not all that ODB II compliant. And I thought those protocols were government mandated. :(

little kids and bugs love the yellow color.. for different reasons i know.. but no matter how many times i wash and spray them to get away, they keep returning from air and bike...

The attention from cougars on the other hand, well no complaints there, that option works

I use ScanXL and it works. You won't see everything because the ECU for the LLT has some new stuff, but if you use the J2534 driver (not ELM) you should be fine.

obdii is a hardware protocol. There are various different software interfaces that your reader must support. It probably does not have the canbus system, or whatever it is these new gm vehicles use. mine would read my 2005 CTS-V, but not my 2006 CTS 3.6

Interesting....
I bet the indexing takes a while that first time.

That's good to know when I get home at 3 in the morning and don't want to wake the apartment neighbors with the alarm honk.

I know this is in the book, but since not everyone reads the book; After rotating the tires you have to reset the TPS, otherwise the tires and computer are not in sync. I know because I ran into this problem first hand. I was resetting my tire pressures as the weather cooled off and the tire I was working on was not the one on the dash that I thought I was increasing the pressure.

Heres one that it seems no many ls owners know.

Your car has a limiter on it and it only will go to 118 miles per hour.
