Plus, if you really want to compare stats. You should use the same scale for both graphs. At first glance, it looks like the engine in the bottom graph has higher hp because it goes up higher on the graph, but really it's just on a lower scale. The graph tops out at 300 instead of 350. All that being said, I'm going to get the top V8 available at launch. I'd like to have the special edition, top dog Camaro, but I just don't want to wait. I want my car now! |

Considering what I already have in my stable, I'm not gonna waste my coin on anything less than 500HP

I dunno. I would certainly love to have 300 hp, no matter the cylinders. I think I'll just have to make the decision in a few years when I actually go to buy the car. There's always the possibility I'll try and wait until fall '10 when I'm 25 and all the potential engine options become available.

As a current V6 owner (as a young male college student, its sorta tough to afford V8 insurance) I'll definitely be buying the V8. Regardless of how quick the V6 may be, it will always lack that sound, feel, and spirit that defines a true American muscle car.

I love the looks of this beast which is the FIRST selling point for me, but like most have said I want at least the base V8 making over 300HP I hope.
We still don't know what engines are coming, so we must wait and see.

I dont remember where i heard this, but do direct injection engines make a lot of noise? And if so, is it annoying?

I too heard that the new DI engine in the CTS has some NVH issues. Hopefully these will be addressed before it is used in any more applications

Lol, V6 isn't a option for my dad or I. V8 is a must-have for us, as far as V6's go they'll probably put a 3.6L or something for the average person. That can't handle the power. lol |
