Thanks.

I went through exactly what you guys are going through only WORSE!!!!!!! You see, I ordered my 1994 Z28 the same time as my brother ordered HIS. They were optioned the same except for the radio. This was 2/22/1994... we were at the SAME DEALERSHIP ordering TOGETHER In May they informed us that there was only ONE allocation for Z28's, and so I was picked as the one who had to wait because my brother was trading a car in and they wanted to make sure it did not lose any more value.

Can you imagine how I felt when they told me I would have to wait. Then imagine how I felt when my brother's car was delivered...

I FEEL YOUR PAIN!

I'm sort of glad I didn't place a pre-order now.

Kinda a bummer, but as long as I get it before July I am ok (I ordered a V6 and am #1 so hopefully this can happen). Also this better give them time to work out any bugs with ABL or anything that may not be working great, now there is absolutely no excuse for unreliability. As far as the V8 thing goes, I would bet almost anything it is a combo of CAFE standards, and Congress hating big V8's so they want to see GM making V6's with their loan.

NO. It's not that they have no market... it's that they want to save their allocation for their "lot cars" and then put the screws to people who come in to buy one.... they can have a "bidding war" that way.

But I agree they should get NONE!

They don't have that level of influence in the company. If they did, they'd probably just make them cancel the Camaro cause it didn't get eleventy-billion mpg.

You know i'm also a little bummed about the production being held back for another month but look at the bright side..... we got an extra 4HP gain out of it.

The Volt isn't getting made in 2009.... the Camaro is.

CAFE needs to be ABOLISHED!

This basically sums up my thoughts. As a Vert person, I was going to go against my true love for convertibles in search of my greater love for the Camaro and buy a 1SS. Now with this information, I feel like the decision has been made for me to wait.

It's going to be torture when the hardtops do hit the streets and I'm still clinging to this computer screen looking for more spyshots...but there it is. :(

My dealer has an allocation of 4, I am #1 of 4 and priority #1. (and the only pre-order)

I ordered on 10/13 order for an 2SS/RS - What do you think the odds are on getting the car late spring?

You think being 6 hours from the factory has any benefits? I know probably not...

But I was thinking this could of been a constraint associated with the loan, like they cannot build more than X% of V8 cars per year so they may bump some V8's to '10. Or can they not do that?

I would say early summer to mid summer, but that is pure speculation based on what I have read in this thread so far.

They can only approve or deny new multi-million dollar investments above a certain value. 1, I doubt V8 vs V6 is above that value and 2, this investment was already made before the loans.

Agreed, and with that fact, would you not want to build your SOLD orders first?
