I'm good with an earlier leave time, as I'd like to get there before dark as well...8-9a works for me.

Doesn't matter to me. Driving in a massive convoy on I-10 will keep me awake without any problems. Someone ought to plot out the trip and see what town we'll need to stop in to get gas

This is what I have been working on for the caravan threads...

Yahoo Maps distance: San Antonio to El Paso 552. mi Time: 7 hrs 21 mins
Dallas to El Paso 636. mi Time: 9 hrs 3 mins This is from downtown Dallas... and San Antonio. i think we can figure 30 minutes shorted actual drive time. but then we figure in the stops and a lunch break... so,
Sa to EP... 8.5 hours
Dallas to EP...10 hours...
Houston to SA... 2.5 to 3 hours... So 11 hours to El Paso, with stops and lunch figured in...

That being the case... If the Houston folks left there meet up at 6:00 am, they could meet up with the San Antonio folks by 8:30 or so... 30 minutes to gas and break, say hellos' etc... SA and houston folks are on the road to El Paso by 9:00...This puts us in El Paso around 5:30...6:00...

Dallas folks leave their meet spot around 7:30 to 8:00, and arrive in El Paso around 5:30 ... 6:00

I am open to suggestions and assistance on this... and feel free to refine this...

Las Cruces is 45 minutes or so further up the road after getting through El Paso, and we will be getting there around rush hour, but I do not know how intense that is compared to Dallas, San Antonio, or the Bay Town Parking Lot...

I think the Dallas gang will have some folks from as far as Virginia joinging them to eventually meet up with all of us for the trip to Chandler... BlackHawk6, and maybe others...

I am trying to be considerate of all with this, and at the same time allow for us to get to Las Cruces, check in and maybe have some time to go over to De La Vegas... Where Pat is trying to set up a nice meet and eat deal...

We can sleep in a little Thursday morning, as it is only another 5.5 hours or so the rest of the way...

comments, suggestions...

I prefer to arrive hotel before dark o'clock.

So far, I see the following 12 going:

SummitSS, ajs69cam, Rizzo, Happy Pappy, 2010ABM, LiquidInfinity, C4, SSE 4 2SS, Attitude, CamaroSkooter, PWND, and RaceLVR24.
I got a reply form one of the EP / Lc folks about taking loop 375 around El Paso to avoid the worst traffic... and that it should save us 45 minutes going to Las Cruces...

I plan on going as does Mrs. Not sure if the kids can tag along and this may change our plans, we have to see when SATs etc are kicking off how the dates impact college etc for our daughter. Senior year in H.S. means she will need to start packing her ba...I mean looking on where she can go to school in college.

thanks, my biggest concern is for the Houston folks. to meet this schedule, some of them may be leaving the house between 4:30 and 5:00. this makes for a really long drive day for them...
Suggestions...

Thanks for that one Pappy,

this being the case, we could plan to leave West San Antonio at 10:00 sharp. this would ease the burden on the Houston folks having to get up as early as 4:30 and would give them until 5:30 to sleep.
