Different strokes
I've got the 2SS in IOM, my husband bought a detonator yellow SRT8 challenger. The camaro is definitely quicker off the accelerator. The challenger is probably more comfortable inside, bigger trunk, interior, etc. When it all comes down to it, I wanted the camaro. I've always wanted one and I love the way it looks. My husband loves his SRT8, he thinks it is more muscle than dazzle. Either way, we are happy! BTW - my husband does think the camaro is the better looking from the exterior view.

This is stock for stock:
Camaro SS/RS: Front View - 9 Back View - 9 Side View - 9 Challenger R/T: Front View - 6 Back View - 4 Side View - 5 The challenger looks ugly stock, especially the rear IMHO. ![]() I am going to throw in the Mustang GT 5.0: Front View - 8 Back View - 6 Side View - 7

I felt the lines on the Challenger were too retro ( too similar to the original). I feel like the Camaro did the best job of taking retro themes but making it very fresh and original. I too am not a big fan of the fake gills or mail slot, but did not find it a deterent to buying the car. GM could have either made it functional or just made it a smooth panel and I think it would look better. For styling, I would rate the Camaro over the Challenger.

Challenger wins hands down, no question. Ask anyone who doesn't own a Camaro. I have at least one person every day approach and ooh and aah over my car. Many immediately compare the Camaro to it and, well, the Camaro didn't win. Of course, I doubt that anyone coming up to compliment my car is going to say something different.
Actually, I think the Camaro is damn sexy too and ya'll get just as many compliments.

Bottom line: These cars are all nice, and we will never see them again. But car guys being car guys, there will be debates. The appearance debates are pointless, since everyone has their own preference. The performance debates only go so far; stock for stock is one thing, but we all know mods can change the equation very quickly. Plus, you have to factor in driver skill.

Thanks. I'm new to this forum. Looks like you've got some nice cars yourself. I think we should enjoy these times, with all of the choices available to us. The old days of the 60s and 70s weren't that different. It's all good!
