If they release the transformers version of the vette or something close to it, then I'd buy the Corvette over today's Viper, but today's Corvette styling is out-dated in my opinion. It looks really nice, but for the ZR1 price, I could buy the better looking Viper, or even an ultra practical AWD Porsche Targa 4S. But I've Always been a fan of Porsches.

I heard that a new Viper is on its way... I can't afford either. So I guess it doesn't really matter, but the Corvette could stand a re-design to attract a new market of people under 50. There are a lot of awesome looking cars for the price and the Corvette just has the massive engine going for it. If they put a new shell around that engine, they'd definitely increase sales! But then again, they'd be taking away from the new CTS-V coupe sales... That car is something sexy...

This is a tough question and it depends on what you are looking for in a car. Performance wise they are pretty similar.
The vette is the more livable car day to day. it wont beat you up on your way to work. Its reliable and easy to maintain. The viper is much less comfortable and will beat you up while driving it. however, you dont see vipers every day. They are very good looking cars that attract a lot of attention and elicit involuntary seizures from all on lookers. Overall, if you are looking for more of a weekend car and a car to get some attention in, like a true exotic, then go with the viper. If you are looking for a daily driver that is also fast and good looking, or dont want a ton of attention, get the viper. I personally would rather buy the vette. |

I'm fortunate enough to own both cars at the moment, an '09 Z06 and an SRT-10 coupe. If I could only keep one, it would be the Viper. Z06 is definitely more daily-drivable and easier to live with, but the Viper is a lot more special, to me. I love both cars for different reasons, but the Viper steals the attention away from any Corvette on the road. Even an old GTS Viper will turn more heads than a new ZR1 does.

I would take the Vette over the Viper. Others have mentioned the GT 40 so... just the other day I saw a Ford GT40, yellow with black stripes, it's a sharp looking car which I would also take over the Viper.

ZR1 FTW! Vipers are nice butt I'll take even a regular Vette in Jetstream Blue any day.

I've driven lots of Corvettes, but never a Viper.
But from everything I've read or heard from people that have, the Viper is an awesome car. BUT, if you want to travel at all, the Corvette is hands down the winner. The Corvette is far more civilized, has more space for luggage and "stuff". And in the right form (Z06 or ZR1) is as fast or faster. So Corvette.
