nah the camaro driver was bad or something, i was running 13.3 with a CAI, and a manual, first time every being at drag strip in my life... i was 18 at the time ... theres no way i could ever see somebody doing a 14.9 with a SS stock

Yeah I dont even know why he would quote that, there was obviously massive driver error. I mean shoot give me an SS and even with a 3.0 60 foot I'll still run better than a 14.9 thats HORRIBLE.

Mostly just the launch, keeping the tires from spinning too much. And some cars are faster in manual mode than auto so making sure they shift at thie right times.

with taking that all into consideration, i would think that the l99 would have to be spinning there for a LONG time, for a v6 to beat them.

but seeing as how i was there, that wasn't the case. lol i don't know why the l99 was so slow, but it was.

very true...maybe that fuse pull thing all those v8 guys are always talking about? that coupled with some extra weight in the car or some heavy aftermarket rims could definitely do that.
