ls3/l99/l92 heads already gave da thin aluminumumum deck and with only a 4 bolt head on stock head blts n gaketss, uz gotz some issuees.

kinder differs on witch keet u git azz well.

Any chance you have some kind of translation for me? I think it's probably easier to type like this. I may have to try it. I appreciate the effort Danhr, although some don't get the sacrcasm. I love it.

You missed a few mmmmm's in alumimiminum?

Hey, you can't fault him for doing his due dilligence and researching every aspect of every F/I application for the camaro. Pretty soon we'll be asking him for some thoughts.

Why yes sir..

I would say around 10 lbs... then the pistons may be a problem, then not too long after that you may have a problem with lifting a head. This is due to the already thin aluminum deck of the LS3/L99/L92 heads, as well as still being on a 4-bolt head with stock gaskets and gm bolts.

Another thing that differs is what kind of kit you are looking at (supercharger or turbocharger)

A lot of things can be done to allow more boost such as:

Thicker (or different material) head gaskets
Running ARP head bolts, or preferably ARP Head studs, to have more clamping force on the heads.
Going to a bigger (1/2") head stud
Running meth
Having a bigger combustion chamber to lower compression ratio
Going to a different fuel (e85, race gas, etc)
Switching to a head that is made of a stronger material
Switching to a head that has a thicker deck
O-ringing either the head or block
Going to a 6 bolt head
Going with forged internals
Having the ability to defy physics

And I dont know what you are talking about.... everyone loves my sarcasm......

u should also own a car before you start boosting one too.

that's just my perspective though.

I didn't buy my mods until after I bought my car.....

Not sure if it was a LS3 or L99 though.
If it's the car I'm thinking about, it was an L99. Now it's just a freak of nature, built motor with a 3.6 KB.
