Definitely. We have been looking into possibly offering a pumpkin swap. Maybe by spring....

the convenience of that would be most excellent. gears are not an immediate need for me. I'll order some springs from you in the mean time .. : )

Not to step on chases toes, but Jannetty racing is offering pumpkin swaps built however you like. Figure about an hr on jack stands tops. It's really easy. And then get some trailing arms and bushings from APEX and you're done.

Chase, haven't all the 4.10 failures been on m6 cars? I haven't heard of any a6 car having gear problems. I'll do my best to break my "unbreakable" Jannetty rear.

All of the failures I know the details of were M6 cars, but there haven't been many A6 guys go with 4.10s other than you. The A6 won't be able to subject the rear end to the same kind of abuse the M6 can so a failure should be less likely.

What the "pumpkin" refers to is the entire round housing that holds the gears. It looks like a pumpkin. It's only held in by three bolts and the axles so for people that don't have the experience to set up a ring a pinion just swapping the pumpkin is a viable option.

Apex Chase,

Are you saying that I may be able to send you the pumkin of my V6 with a manual trans this winter (while car is in storage) and you can swap to gears to 4.10s?

Also, do you think they will come out with 4.33s? I would rather start out in 2nd then have to go through the 1st into 2nd grinding issue.

It is something we have been discussing but if we offer that it probably won't happen until spring. Richmond makes 4.33s but I would have to run some numbers to see what that would be like.

You can send it to Jannetty and they can build the rear, send you back the newly built pumpkin, and you can pop it in.
