Sounds crazy, but, on the 69 and on this 09, I see a grill that pose as beautiful teeth. And front bumpers that say "I go really fast!" Quarter panels that look like fighter jet wings! And a body that makes me just melt!

Do I sound like a possessed Camaro groupie or what?
She may have a 69 looking grill and dash but the rest of her is all 68 and those two cars are the sexiest two cars with 4 seats that I've ever seen. Not to mention I was born in 68.

I hope Scott doesn't mind me copying/pasting. But, this was a great read and something I thought you all might like to read.

I'll chime in -- not that I should, perhaps, but I can't resist.

The first Camaro I ever saw was on Sept 10, 1966 when our dealership received its first Camaro.......and I've been CamaroCrazy ever since.

We (the Camaro Team) and our Ad Agency have asked the same question for 40 years.......

I guess early September of 2002 comes to mind when I think of what Camaro means to me. We'd just finished producing the last 4th gens. To say I was in a funk is the understatement of the decade. We'd taken a decoy for the last saleable Camaro to the Kruse Auction in Auburn, Indiana -- and I drove down for that auction. I was driving a 2002 Brickyard 400 Convertible (one of the 57 "Z7D" cars--the Silver ones) -- and the auction was bittersweet. We'd raised $72,500 for charity that day ...but we weren't building Camaros or Firebirds anymore - and while I was certain that we'd eventually bring the Camaro back -- I had no real idea of when that would happen.

It was after 10pm....I was really in a funk...and so I put the top down - and just started to drive thru the Indiana countryside -- the temps were in the 70s....just a great night for a convertible.........and I was thinking -- a lot.

I kept asking myself "how could this happen? how could we quit building these wonderful cars? What could I have done differently? Should I have yelled louder?" My eyes 'leaked' for a while....but I finally stopped thinking and started concentrating on the drive -- and how enjoyable the car handled -- and how great it sounded -- there's just something about that LS1 engine -- and I realized that there was nothing else I could have really done...and that while the cars were on hiatus -- it didn't mean that they'd all suddenly disappear-- and that there were a LOT of people out there upset that the cars went on hiatus....and that they'd be around for quite some time.......

.....and I realized that the Camaro is, indeed, a friend -- a pal -- a comrade. As I look over the last few years of the 4th gen -- no matter how hard the day may have been -- when I'd drag myself out to the office garage late at night -- and fire up one of the Camaros I was driving -- it would still bring a smile to my face....and it would make it all worth while.

You have no idea of how much I live to walk into a parking lot where you've all gathered -- with your Camaros and Firebirds -- and see the pride you have in your cars -- and the love you show for them.....and the friendships that have been forged..........

........and THAT, my friend, is what makes Camaro so special.

Yup -- I love Corvettes as well -- but the Camaro (and Firebird) is just so much more 'personal' --

As I travel around with Bumblebee -- I see that the future, indeed, looks incredibly bright!

I can tell you what makes me crazy about my Camaro;

1. Most important - The friends I have as a result of owning this car.
2. The memories of events I've attended with the SS.
3. The opportunities I've had as a result of being associated with the Camaro.
4. Still receiving remarks from fellow motorists regarding the SS even though this coming Dec., he'll be 9 yrs. old.
5. The fact that everyday I look for an excuse to get it out the garage and go for a ride. (Has anyone seen the new Cadillac commercial with the woman driving the new CTS? She makes the comment, "When you turn your car on, does it return the favor?" I always think of the SS when I hear that. )
6. Being a part of a great community, such as the group here.

I could continue, but I'll just say this. Though it can be argued that the Camaro is just a piece of machinery, compromised of metal, plastic, wiring, etc., this car also has a soul.

When I walk into the garage and see my Camaro, I don't see a piece of machinery.....I see a friend.

I'll be honest, Ive always been more of a Trans Am guy than a Camaro. I used to have an 87 black Trans Am GTA of which I beefed up to be a mid 6 second 1/8 mile street car. I sold it, and earlier this year I bought an 01 Camaro SS. Boy did they change from the third gens...lol. I had the car for two months, and had a terrible accident in which I came close to losing my life. The car caught fire and burned completely. Only had 21000 original miles too...

But anyways-getting back to the question- I love the new camaro partially due to the high impact the 2001 SS had on me (changed me from a trans am lover to a camaro), and also because of the unreal potential that is there. This car seems to me like its going to be the best yet. The suspension Ive read about is going to be awesome. The engine is going to be awesome. The car simply looks badass. The big wheels and fat tires, low & wide stance, "chop top" look, the nostalgic aspect-I have always liked the "old school" camaros. The halo headlights make this dude look mean as hell! The new interior looks to me to be extremely nice- what looks like the GTO's seats, etc-which is the best yet also. The interior on the GTO's really impressed me.

I cant wait and am ready to own another Camaro!!

I guess compelled her to ask me.."What is it that makes you so crazy about this car?"

I own that beautiful 68 Camaro to the left, my friends ask me how much money do I have into it? My response is it does not matter, it is not about the money. This is a passion ,that I see many of you share and has nothing to do with money at all. If you understand this, need I say more?

Though the car's name was contrived with no meaning, GM researchers reportedly found the word in a French dictionary as a slang term for "friend" or "companion."

No truer words ever spoken.

Automotive press asked Chevrolet product managers "What is a Camaro?", and they were told it was "a small, vicious animal that eats Mustangs"

Well these words are more true than the previous quote.
