Yes I did. They were pretty good to work with, especially doing a long distance deal.

what are your modding plans?
I definitely want to keep the exterior close to stock. The only real plans I have for that are the chrome ZR1 style wheels and I definitely want to get the SLP SS grille that was an option back in 2002.

As far as engine/ drivetrain mods go, my ultimate goal is 400+ rwhp, which should be pretty easy to get out of the LS1 from what I've been reading on- line. I want to keep it naturally aspirated, so no superchargers or NOS. It's already got a K&N air filter. My first engine mod will probably be the SLP air box. I also like the look if the SLP center exit exhaust, so that will be in the cards as well. I'd like to find a dyno before I do anything to it so I can know for sure where I'm starting from.

My first mod will be done this week as soon as the parts arrive and it's due to my own stupidity. I managed to ding the edge of my door against the wall of my garage the second day I had it! The lower part of my garage is cinderblock and it left a scratch about an inch and a half long on the edge of the door. I went to O'Reilly's and got some touch- up paint, but it's still pretty chewed up looking. I've ordered some color matching door edge guards to cover up the damage. I also bought some weatherstripping and blocked off a square so that it won't happen again.

The second mod I have planned is the addition of XM radio. I'm looking to get an auxilliary input adaptor and will run the XM through that. The standard Monsoon system sounds great to me, so I really want to keep it. The car came with the 12 disk CD changer, so I'm already ahead on that score.

Other than that, I'm looking to get some custom floormats with the SS logo and a few other tasteful things for the interior. It's going to be a long term labor of love and all that.

Still runs like a bat outta hell for a base T/A. Pity SLP didn't want Maple Red for the WS6 package.

How much did they end up charging ya?
Mine was in good shape. The original owner had done a good job taking care of it and it was obviously pampered. The dealership had bought it at an auction in Michigan, but the original owner had sent along a bunch of his paperwork in the hatch. It was still there when I picked up. It's mostly receipts for oil changes and a new set of wiper blades, but it's that kind of anal retentiveness that I respect. Hell, I started taking it a step further and scanning all my car docs into my laptop this past summer so I'll have a digital record to burn to a CD and send on when I go to sell or trade a car later.

I was satisfied with the price. NADA book value was $22K and I got it for just under $18K. All in all, it's less than half of what I was planning to spend on my "dream" 5th gen and I figure I'm having just as much fun. Lower monthly payments, lower insurance costs, lower taxes and licensing fees... what's not to like?

I like your sig, especially the 303 rwhp number out of a stock LS1. I need to get mine on a dyno and confirm that as well. I love how GM underrated the motors in the 4th gen F- bodies so they didn't hurt the Vette guys' feelings.

that NBM is single-handedly the best color of camaro ever, hugger orange wishes it was half of what NMB is, every car im going to own for the rest of my life is going to be NBM lol. really though looks great, my car wants to be yours when it grows up...the v8, the black interior, better radio, rims...speaking of which i would totally be willing to take those rims off of you if you ever get those ZR1's

Very Nice!! M6 or auto?

I had an '01 NBM SS a few years ago. LOVED the color . Mine had chrome wheels, "SS" grill and the Center Mount Exhaust. Definitely go for the Center Exhaust and "SS" grill.....the look is killer! I'll have to see if I can dig up some pics of mine.

I had an Underdrive Pulley, Volant Cold Air, Ported TB, TB Bypass, and a Predator which was good for 325rwhp if I remember correctly.

Yeah, there were a few vette guys there scratching their heads then almost demanding to see under the hood and 'prove it's stock'.

I lol'd. WS6 before me with a throttle body and intake did 318..

Also, my bad on the SLP thing. I feel like a dunce; however it's a known fact that they never made a WS6 in Maple Red. I still feel special.. *puts helmet on*
