I ran over a fairly large screw yesterday. I heard a loud noise when it happened and then heard a clanging noise so I pulled over and saw this fairly large screw in my tire. I drove home and never lost any air. Took the tire in today and thankfully it was able to be plugged for only $8!

My camaro looked weird with a spare tire though! Hopefully never again!

When I bought my Camaro the finance guy sold me a warranty for my tires incase a situation like that happens. Apparently if I run over a nail or something and the tire is blown they'll replace it, also if something happens to my rims too.

The only way it covers a rim is catastrophic failure. Any minor curb rash or scrapes are not covered.

I think I remember them trying to sell me that too. I didnt opt for it though but I am glad my tire was able to be plugged because these tires ain't cheap!

I don't think Plugs are legal anymore.

I plugged my wifes '10 equinox tire and its held air great. I bought the extra goopy heavy duty plugs. Plugged my GTO tire too a couple years back. Duno about legalitys but they are a pita to put in. Patch it if you have the choice and have a good tire guy that wont knick the rim.

Hmmm well when i paid she said "we got it plugged just fine for you" so i dont know if that meant they really did plug it or if that was just the term she used just to be general. Either way I hope it holds up!

I had a screw in the tread area on Memorial day and had it plugged. 30 days later I got a screw 2" up on the sidewall and got a new tire for a mere pittance of $251.00. Luckily(?) in same tire.

Let me know how you feel about that when your handing over $250+ when the same thing happens to you. I bought the same insurance. Used it once on a small plug. Could have been worse though. I'm covered for another four years.

I would normally agree with you, with this exception and for flat screen TV's. Lost big on my first TV when it went out. I now have an extended warranty on my new one and I'm using it as we speak. TV has a line going down the middle of it. If you get a new TV, GET THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. Flat screen TV's are still not a proven technology, and usually start giving you trouble after two years.

I agree & disagree with that, and most in store stuff hell yah! Only two things I got extended on was my flat screen which will even cover it if the screen is hit, and if you dont know those screens cost as much as the TV to fix! Lost my old flat screen because of that...

Second is my Camaro, and granted GM quit making cars half-assed (mostly) it is still a new model production run... and.. well.. still a GM lol.

In both cases I managed to work the warranties in with negotiating final price so got a good deal based on asking prices... and they will more than pay for themselves with a single claim.

Still, for most products it's a scam.

Damn I know exactly where your coming from, spooky! Although mine somehow got damaged during a move even though I properly packed & secured it... ah well. Now it's in it's box and probably get recycled. Had it four years without a single issue... so my new one has 5 year extended on it.

I should also mention the place I got it from is good, if you do not end up making a claim you get a gift certificate for the full amount so win win!

A lot of times at discount tire you can negotiate to get 4 road hazzard warranties gor the price of 2 if anyone is interested. Im pretty sure it includes balancing and rotation. A screw to the sidewall gets you a new tire no matter how old the tire.

I bought the extra goopy heavy duty plugs. Plugged my GTO tire too a couple years back. Duno about legalitys but they are a pita to put in.
