2010 V6 Camaro will beat any 2010 V6 Mustang as long as you know how to drive. I have took a couple myself. As for the SS Camaro and the GT Mustang 2010, SS Camaro wins hands down. Its because of this that you are seeing Ford rebound with a stronger V6 and V8 for 2011. In other words they were getting there ass handed to them compared to the Camaros of 2010.

The 2010 camaro v6 will beat the 10 v6 mustang in every category (relating to performance)
The 2010 ss vs gt, is closer then you guys make it seem. An l99 against a gt is a drivers race in the quarter, anything after that is an advantage to the camaro. The ls3 a good 4-5 tenths quicker then the stick, and the auto gt is a couple seconds behind that. In a road course, it depends. The mustang is a better handling car, however not by enough to make any difference, for the camaro's power is much better and it's handling is close enough where the gap in handling is enough to close the gap in power. In a road course that is heavily focused on turns, the mustang will take it. Anything else, the camaro will win although it may be quite close (of course excluding any course with a strong emphasis on speed) |

This is where i get confused, so the 315hp GT to the 426hp SS is still a drivers race? Is the weight the biggest impact?

Both the LS3 and L99 will destroy a 2010 GT any-day and to be honest.....by ALOT. Think about it, a 315hp GT is actually probably getting around 240-250hp at the wheels-260 being the most on a manual, against a 300+rwhp SS; either SS will easily run past a GT. The GT needed the engine swap to compete.

lets look at your own boards numbers as an example, so theres no bias. http://camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21013 according to this list, real people with real times. fastest being a 12.58. impressive no doubt. however, the majority of these times are in the 13's. bone stock 2010 GT's run mid 13's all day. this is with the 100 hp deficit. now, is the SS capable of running mid 12's stock? this list above says yes. but thats not whats going to be common. the low to mid 13s is what is common. thats the great thing about bench racing....no matter what the fastest car is the one that YOU want it to be, because nobodys actually doing any racing. |
