******** poll
Hey guys, so I need your help deciding what sub box to get. I have a 10" Kicker L7 Solo-baric sub and a massive Orion Competition Amp (i think 800 Watts RMS at 1 ohm, maybe 1000, can't remember, it's very old).
My question is, should I go with the drop in ******** driver side box, or the larger ******** box, or neither? I was inclined to go with the drop in box since the sub will fit and it meets the volume specs from kicker, i won't have to mess with the carpeting in the trunk, and i figured less space it takes up the better right? But when I was talking to Steve (******** owner) he suggested the larger box. So I wanted to get your opinions before I made my purchase. What do you guys think? I am just looking to add a little extra thump, I'm not gonna be trying to break windows or compete or anything. So should I go with the drop in box? the larger box? or a different box? If you vote for neither ******** box please post a recommendation. Thanks! |

If you are 100% sure it will fit in the smaller box then I'd get that one since the volume will meet the subs specs and you don't have to do any cutting. Just be sure that your sub will indeed fit in the shallow box.

Steve from ******** (he makes the boxes) assured me it will fit. He was just saying the bass will sound better in the larger one because it will have more air volume.
Air volume specs for the boxes: .8 for the smaller box 1.2 for the larger box Air volume specs for the sub: .66 minimum 1.0 maximum You would think definitely the smaller, but he says not to follow the specs, that the larger one will sound better |

I just voted neither because that'll make it 4s for all of them now.
Sorry, you might want to do this question / poll on http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/

Well the poll was aimed at people who have bought and used the ******** box in the camaro. I don't think there are a lot of 5th gen camaro owners over there

Well I thought you'd be more concerned with what the size of the enclosure should be (regardless of what name is on the side of it) and how that matched that specific sub. But it's your poll!
