I don't even know what my car will run stock, I had it dyno'd and put down high numbers for a L99(355rwhp). But in all my encounters I've had with 2010 GTs, Challengers, Charger SRTs, I never lost. Never ran into a 5.0 though, would have lost. Although, I wasn't at a track it was on a closed off area,....and more money lol. So I was happy with my L99s stock performance,....for a while. Once I got money it burned my hands and went straight into the car.

you mentioned that the camaros that carguy_Z28 talked about had to have been "garbage drivers". how do you know you're not a garbage driver too? and i always thought when one has a self shifting transmission, that kind of takes the driver out of the equation? |

Yeah, I understand what your saying, but YOUR NUMBERS, as well as the numbers of other drivers, is dependent upon the conditions you ran in at that time. Some days you may produce average times,......other days if conditions are ideal, your time may improve,... if you don't suck at driving of course. Just saying, a SS COULD lose to a 2010 GT if the driver was bad, but in most instances than not, the SS will always outrun that GT unless the SS has a horrible driver.

back when i used to do...a lot of street racing, i always hated racing the auto guys, because theyre generally faster. the stick crowd always thought they were "good drivers" when the truth was they sucked. not saying i was this awesome gear banger, but i could pound a tranny pretty well. ![]() but thats the thing nobody asks, "if i have a 2010 GT and i race a guy in a 2010 SS with a horrible/good driver will i win?" there are just certain races where you have to know you beat the driver and not the car. if i raced a new camaro SS and beat it down, im not ignorant enough to think that i beat the car that bad...it was the guy behind the wheel. could i say i beat an SS? absolutely. but im smart enough to know the difference. i think thats the problem with a lot of ppl these days...they DONT know the difference. |

An exhaust and cold air? There was someone who ran a 12.5 with a tuned-only L99. So I really don't see your point here. Also, that also includes you having nearly a 400lb weight advantage and gearing advantage.

youre talking about one car that did that. do most tuned only L-99 cars run that number? not according to the list on here that i linked earlier. and low 13s in a car with a that has a tiny lil 281 ci motor with just a couple of breathing improvements is pretty damn good. i would expect a lot more if the car had a motor that displaced 6 whole liters. |

why did he have a gearing advantage? Ford come factory with 3.55's and 3.73's... so thats not considered a "mod" Id like to see a tuned only L99 go 12.5... not saying its not possible, but the SS I raced a couple weeks ago, had a CAI tune and DR's and he's a high 12 second car, and he really IS a pro driver too... auto or not, he is a above average driver by any books, was pulling 1.7 '60 add day on a shitty track...

Your low 13s car with a tiny lil 281 ci motor has a ~400lb weight, gear, and SRA advantage. It's all relative, which is why these mod v. mod debates are really pointless. To me, it's all about the drive. |
