Bazooka Tube

Thinking about putting in a Bazooka tube self amped 10" BTA10250D in my camaro. What do you guys think? I tried searching the forum but seems like no one has tried this yet.

That's because they suck, lol.

Seriously, they are fine for a little added lowend, but don't expect big things out of them. Some of the best 'tube installs involved replacing the sub inside the tube with a different one. Even those lacked on the really deep stuff. They just can't reach down low and be loud. At best, IMHO, they are more mid bass then sub bass.

Disclaimer, I haven't played with a Bazooka tube in awhile, things might be different now. Personally, I'd look at a ******** package.

Only tubes I have heard that sound good are custom built tubes with different subwoofers inside.

I'm not really looking for major bass that will shake the ground just looking to add a little more bass inside the cabin. So what would you guys think I should get then? I'm looking for a self amped sub that's easy to install and doesn't take up a lot of room. Let me know thanks!

Where did you purchase it from and where did you put it in your Camaro?

I had a bazooka in one of my previous cars. I was in college and did not have much money so went with it.

It did make a little bit of a difference, however it won't give you anything great! I noticed that the Bazooka would distort out quite at higher volumes.

You mentioned that you don't want any earth shattering bass. A sub even at a lower volume will provide cleaner, more accurate bass. Not all people use subs for the glass shaking effect. My single 10" is just used to complete the bottom end of the frequency. So in a techno song, the majority of the beat is coming from the woofers, and the sub is only providing that little deep bass sound to round off the very low frequency.

I got my JL Audio 10" Woofer for $165 and my Pioneer Amp for $140 new. My install was $120. All in all under $500.

A local shop here in Sacramento, CA called Auto-Radio. They did a good job and only charged me $120.

Non-Ba system in you car, grab this. Add teh $38 wiring kit pictured below it and $20 for a LOC, $457.00

Ba system in your car, grab this. $577, a little over the tube, but comes with everything needed to install and will kill the Bazooka!

There's two options right off the bat. Just to give you a few ideas.

If you're looking for something really self-contained and not looking to blow out windows I guess I would recommend the Infinity Basslink.

I had one for my jeep (because I could remove it easily) and it was a little trooper. 200 watts, active 10" on one side and a passive 10" on the bottom.

I like to do my own install stuff too, but if you truly dont know and want a little something easy, might be worth a go.

just my 2 cents.
