Red 2LT/RS at Greenville, SC Auto Show

Not sure if anyone else has posted about this one yet, but it was there. I don't think it's anything new...I think this one has been around a few times. It had the RS package but not the midnight silver wheels. You could not get in it, but it was nice to at least see one in person.

I was EXTREMLY disappointed with this car show. Last yr they had the silver concept that you couldnt get in it. That was understandable. This yr you still couldnt get in it even though every other post from a car show has people in the car and the Chevy Rep told me they had to pull parts off the line to make this one so it was worth about $250,000 AND she said production starts in February. I was looking around for a pair of hip waders. On a good note, there was a ZR1 there. OK Rant over.

I know...every other car there you could get in, but NOT the camaro!

That girl told me the same thing...good looking girl but didnt know too much

I asked if that was a LT 2 , and she said NO thats a RS, then pointed
at the RS badge ...nice girl though

I grew up in Philly and miss the car show up there...this one just doesn't have too much of a 'wow' factor. It's like walking the dealer lots on the Motor Mile. Nothing too new or outstanding.

Sorry I missed you.....I flew in just to check out the show -- went back to the hotel to do some email -- and the hotel flooded....(long story...)

sorry -- but the only shows that have had an 'open' Camaro for people to get in and out of (at least in the U.S.) is Detroit/NAIAS........the one in Virginia Beach was open by mistake.....

The issue: the cars you've seen up to this point do NOT have production intent door panels or I.P.s -- many of the parts are 'hard' plastic or vinyl and have not been properly grained -- meaning that the 'grained' finish you see is sprayed on -- and if you and 10,000 of your closest friends were to get in and out of them, the sprayed finish would rub off -- meaning that people would not be pleased with 'quality' -- so --
...two choices:

>Put a production intent Camaro in as many shows as possible with the doors closed

or

>No Camaro

We chose the first one.

Tidbit -- the Red car at Greenville is the car we showed when we 'unveiled' the Camaro in Detroit this summer.

Originally we ordered it as an SS/RS for autoshows.........but then we decided to make it into a V6 (appearance-wise).....so it has the appearance of a 2LT with RS.........however, open the hood and there's a V8! (which, of course, you can't order....)

This car showed its face in Buffalo last September. It looked gorgeous then, too.

Hey Scott, don't suppose there will be one for Spring Fling car show in Panama City in March? Just wondering.
Me and the wife go there every year. She took 3rd in swimsuit last year. I might lose a digit to see one in person.

I know it must be a pain to get the same ?s all the time.
Something tells me your going to be busier and busier over the next few months.

Is this vehicle gonna be in the STL auto show in a couple weeks? Last year was the first year and it was a concept and doors couldnt open, well I'm sure they did open but it was basically just a shell. I need to see the inside of it. I am spending $30k and really havent gotten a feel for the ride yet. lol
