Mr. Zedder....how long does a particular color run in production before the color is switched?...(or how many vehicles get painted that certain color before they switch?) just curious..thanks

There is no switching of paints. Any color can be painted at any time.

For example. If 10 cars in a row needed to be painted a different color each. there would be no switching of paints. Every paint booth has different robots/bells that paint a specific color. Therefore any clor combonation can be applied with no switching time. as i stated before, if you really wanted to, you could have a red,black,orange,white,blue,cyber gray metallic color on the same car. Although Gm would never let it out of the paint booth.

I think you misunderstood the question.

We have 10 different paint colors on-hand for Impala and for Camaro -

So we can paint a different color for each car coming down the line -- for a total of 10.

What we CAN'T do is paint Dark Tarnished Silver and then a Cyber Gray car -- because in order for us to paint Cyber Gray, we need to finish with Dark Tarnished Silver -- and clean out the paint system and re-fill with the new paint.

That's why we can't do "special" paint --

We were told that CGM was getting is own bell line. Here we go again with the in the plant mis-communication.

Here were my best attempts to create CGM (along with white and black), using photoshop. Original car was victory red....The one gray version is clearly too light, but the other one seems close.

Hmmmm....I wonder if GM is going to delay the release of the CGM till the summer, I think they should since for some god forsaken reason we have to wait for the Summit White

they've already said they have to wait on the other paint to run out first. they can't have two variations of the same color going at the same time. the camaro will use summit white, while the impala is currently using a different shade. once they change over to the new colors, that's when we'll see them.
