BTW...dont just do a dig run. Try him from 40-130 as well (take away some driver error and traction problems etc). On a closed course obviously Make sure you are damn near empty on gas as well...dont give any advantages away that you can control.
ya we never do from a dig racing.. we always do 40-130 kind of racing..
we are in rochester hills , and would love to meet up with some people

That would be cool. My friend has a 2000 z28.
I recommend 2nd gear at 40. I beat a h/c ls1 in the same fashion from 40-130 by 1-2 cars twice. (the friend I mentioned)

You keep that thing out all year or what? it is going to have to be next year before I can make anything happen. I put my car up for the winter on the 14th of this month.

I would also like to see that black chrome in person...I am not sure if I like it or not from the pics over regular chrome. Still undecided....

Sorry to go off topic but...
Any aluminum driveshafts available for the camaro? What are the weight numbers on those? I may be interested...
It didn't show any power on the dyno, however the car drove much nicer with the aluminum 1-piece than it did with the OEM 2-piece shaft.

40 in 2nd???? Try 1st, it's a beast from a 40 in 1st. Requires a quick shift but makes a ton of difference.

it might feel like a beast but are you sure it actually helps to start a race at 5000rpm? After only a brief moment (a range of 1400rpm in 1ST GEAR) of wide open throttle racing you have to shift almost immediately and you lose a little ground there between shifts. Anyways im not saying for a fact that it is detrimental to start in 1st for a 40mph race, but just because its possible doesnt necassirly mean for certain that its the best way. Anyways, just food for thought. Also to start a 40mph race in first, that means you have to be cruising at 5000rpm in first gear for a while before the race even starts. Not sure if many people like the feeling of having their engine sustain those rpms for extended periods.

40 mph is a dead spot for the 5th gen.... I would go to 1st gear..... but it's a lose/lose situation....

I would say go from a 20 roll and be in 1st gear.. otherwise try 50-60 mph in 2nd.

i agree......

with that being said, i dont fully understand your sig. Why brag about cars at all since the engineers are the ones that picked the parts and assembly people installed them originally?????......

apparently they didn't do a good enough job for me...... or else I wouldn't be spending all this money and spending all the time changing something they put together...

Thats why I said 2nd.
Dan...40 doesnt really feel that dead to me. Their is nothing dead about the way my car takes off in 2nd gear at 40mph.

-No immediate shift required. It is toward the middle of the rpm range so it is good for a rolling start (engines not whining to hell)....and you can still hear the beeps.

-Traction is an issue from a first gear roll at 20.

-It is a good speed for a roll race and 2nd gear is the best choice for this speed. Starting at much higher of a speed seems more like a top speed challenge than a drag race. ..40 has always been good to me lol

Just my opinion...and it has worked well more than a few times.

just saying from experience...

I just prefer the 40-130 type racing because it takes away a lot of excuses etc. I have a very hard time launching on the street anyway...and this is only going to get worse as I add more mods in the future.

Seems like racing to me, even if you think it is not, it still shows what each car can do under those circumstances. Not to mention, I'm sure it is fun as shit!!!
