Would be hard pressed not to turn the car toward them and floor it just to watch them scatter like scared chickens.

Drunk Frat Boys Hit by Bullets...

The new headline would read "Drunk Frat Boys hit by Bullets".

As the police respond to shots being fired, I would say they threw bottles at my car and when I got out to investigate the damage they threw more at me and in fear for my life and my date's life, I responded with deadly force as I was outnumbered.

Woah, Woah, Woah!!!!

Ladies and Gentlemen just a second. Has no one here ever been drunk while in College, Military or just while growing up? Or has everyone forgotten what it was like to be that age?

I am not condoning what these punks did for one minute but lets take a step back and remember our youth for a second. I am sure all of us at one time or another has done something while drunk that we regret. If not you really haven't lived.

Does this situation really call for all of this aggressive reaction? We are talking about a bunch of kids who are drunk that didn't really cause any damage, thank goodness, while having a good time. They will probably wake up tomorrow regretting it and learn a lesson. Isn't that how we all learned? I know I learned a lot of lessons the hard way but I learned.

Yes, it is upsetting to hear something likes this happened to the OP but reading everyones reaction got me even more riled up. I mean c'mon people, lighten up. Remember your youth before reacting because I am sure not all of you were angels. I know I wasn't but that is what makes me a better person now.

T.

PS. This may not be worded the best way so please don't nitpick it to death. Take it as a whole and you will get my point, we were all young once!

Road racing is like China White Heroin, the buzz is stronger, the high lasts for hours, it's extremely addictive and they are all different.

It took every ounce of energy not to pull my sidekick and go O.K. Corral. Instead I just utilized her 500 h.p. and the boys in blue. They made no arrests which is bs. The bottle that hit only hit my wheel so it didn't really do any damage. How do y'all think I handled this one?

I can't agree at all. I don't think drunkenness or the fact that they're "young" excuses them from this sort of behavior. I also don't believe you need to make an ass of yourself to have 'lived'...

And no. I've never chucked bottles or damaged someone else's property. Especially not an obviously expensive something....

EDIT: That said...there's no reason to want any sort of revenge on them. At that point...we're no better than their stupid a$$es were. It's truly a shame no arrests were made...was there not any damage to speak of (to anything) to bring'em in?

you did better than me...i woulda been back at their house without the girls...beat their asses, and if they had cars, stuck a potato in the exhaust(heard it kills the engine and causes thousands in damage, that'd b a ggod time for me to test that theory)

but you did the smart thing, you never know what will happen with drunk people

you should carry an OC grenade... would have been perfect for the situation pull the pin throw it at them and take off.. Would have ruined their day and you would have safely made your point without killing anyone.

You would not have been justified in acting with deadly force, and would have been facing serious charges. Even in Texas with it's CCW laws you wouldn't have had justification to shoot or threaten deadly forced without them making a move towards your property. If they attacked your car on your property you could have made a case for the use of deadly force. While you have no duty to retreat in Texas, I don't believe a single beer bottle thrown at your car would have been justification for drawing your weapon. If they approached the car you may have had a case.

Also my friend had something similar happen and he almost got out to confront the 2-3 smaller guys who punched his car. His girlfriend talked him into just leaving. Turns out their friend ran into the same group and got out to deal with the situation and was jumped by 5-6 guy in the bushes. This happened in Nantucket so it's not like it happened in the ghetto. The guy ended up having to go to the hospital to get treated. Sometimes it's better to get out of the situation and get law enforcement/insurance involved, then it is to get your ass kicked, or end up fighting for your freedom.

Contacting the authorities was the smartest thing to do. It does suck that no arrest were made, but texas has laws that wil either help you out or disappoint you. No arrest were made probably because the act didn't happen in the officers presence or view. Only felony amount ($) of damage is arrestable. If you would have pulled your piece, you would've risked getting arrested. Plus the chick you were with pro;;y respected the fact that you kept your cool over the issue while wth her rather than lowering yourself to those douches level...
