Just because I drive a Camaro, doesn't mean I have to hate Mustangs... I happen to like a lot of Mustangs... The OP is either trolling or is a blind fanboy... the new Mustang V6 is a hell of a car... period...

Looking forward to seeing the OP timeslips from the drag strip so he can backup up his claims...
I agree with SCRMING on this one. My DAD retired from Ford. I grew up loving Mustangs. I have a list of some that I would love to own too, including a 69 Boss 429. You will never see me trolling on their threads or dishing a Mustang. What I will say is that I like the looks of my Camaro over the current Mustang. (Then again, I work for GM, I might be a little biased).

With a tune, I doubt the redline is stock on the Mustang. Raising the rev limiter is one the easiest way to get power out of the 5.0.

Either way, I'm really looking forward to seeing this race. Good luck to both of you guys, it's awesome to see two friends having fun with rival bad-ass cars. Stay safe.

Ditto.. And just to let the OP know, the 5.0 is a totally different beast once IT GETS to 4K rpms.. That's when the VTEC kicks in..lol.... Good luck and keep us posted..

5th 0.85
6th 0.67
Final drive 3.27

So they are closing matched between the two. Which brings it down to the rear gear ratio, weight, HP, and driver. Until they are lined up on the same day, same track, and at the same time this debate could go on until HELL freezes over.

One other thing, if the Camaro is a one legger tire fryer then someone better explain this:

I'm not even going to bother explaining why this is such a fail. Line 'em up at the track, and the outcome will not be what you expect.

Pointed that out already. Line-em up and let the racing begin.

Only the base model V6 has a open diff. The base 6 spd and all other models have a limited slip diff. If you dont have a LS auto and you only spin 1 tire you have a problem with your rear diff.

Not True. I have the 2LT Automatic and have spun both tires. And I know Scrming has spun both too. We have photos of our calling cards to prove it.

If an open diff. allows both tires to spin as Scrming described than yes all V6 automatics are open diffs.

I suppose those do come into play when setting the math equation for the entire set-up.

Exactly. Only the LS auto has a open diff. The LT cars have LSD. You should have a LSD in your car as you 2LT. I test drove a 2010 2LT before I bought my car and it had a LSD. 1 tire in grass and other on pavement and the car just took off. Spun the tire on grass a little bit but definitely was LSD.

No... ALL V6 Autos have open differentials. Did you turn traction control off?
