The white fluffy stuff

How do you think the non-existent Z28 will drive in the snow? (With snow tires of course...)

We got hit with a few inches today, and it got me thinking:
This car may serve as a daily driver to some crazy people (like me )...how would that play out?!?

If it drives anything like the SS (which is hard to tell as it is "non-existent"), It should do fine. (with winter tires)

I'm driving my SS all year round here and cold weather grip is certainly an issue with these P-ZERO's. But you guys get way more snow than we do so you'll probably need a backup car if you have'nt got one already.

I wouldn't even try it. Snow tires and weight would help by it's criminal to put such a fine machine through all that salt and sand that will be on the roads!

I used to have a 1988 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe and had to drive it in the snow one year. Now I know we've come a long way in technology in 20 years so take it with a grain of salt (pun intended ) but when I took my foot off the brake the car went sideways.

My SS is parked in winter.

If you can afford the Z28 you can afford a winter beater to prevent the above. It's not my driving I worry about out there - just sayin'...

It'll be hopeless in Buffalo in the summer tires it comes with, but it should drive just fine with winter tires. The electronics aids will see to that. However, as an enthusiast I beg you to never plan on exposing it to salt. Buy a beater or keep your current car. Besides, all told the beater will cost about the same as winter wheels and tires for the Z28. And it will be less to insure for those ~4 months or so.

I will drive my 2SS this winter with my Tire Rack Pirelli ice and snow tires but.... a Z28 is where I would draw the line and park it.

A broad assumption to make that isn't true. (I wish it were):(

Re: salt -- I did a thorough check on the Cobalt a couple weeks ago. And it's been through three winters here, so far. Nothing but the exposed (and replaceable) bolts are rusting as everything underneath has been painted and coated. I was actually very impressed. As as far as beater/v tires...the economics don't work out the way I want it to. That's why I find myself in this situation.

Oh, and if I didn't make it clear -- Don't worry too much. The car isn't out yet, let alone my buying it.

I'm just talking.
