I miss that tight nit feeling too. It was easy when I could read every new post on here and still answer every pm and email. It's gotten so busy that even if I gave it all day, I couldn't keep up.
We are trying. Believe me...we are trying. And one thing is for sure...we don't nearly get to all the posts like we used to. We strive to make everyone happy and we try to enforce rules equally. We hope people like the fact that we have rules as it keeps the site in check. If something happens....please report the post like Joe said. |

First let me say I'm not blaming any one mod for failing. I have noticed a shift in what is enforced and what isn't. The threads I speak of mods have been posting in. And when I get home I'll find the mods posts in those threads. None of the mods say anything negative but come off encouraging such activity.
Again other issues I will email and address you mods. The ones I have known. And maybe you can answer. |

To further comment on the issues monkey has raised, I also find that a lot of the 'fun' factor of this site has gone away lately. I find myself popping on here much less often, and usually just to read up on #3's latest adventures.
I don't have any solutions or even a specific reason, just my personal feelings. I have made a few friends from this site, and will still check in from time to time, but I think I will take a small 'vacation'. All the best, Lance |

I'm back. Spent most of the last week in the Convertible Trip thread. I know I have so little time, I can barely manage one ongoing thread. I can only imagine how hard it is for Tran and the moderators to keep up and keep track.
There are other Camaro sites that I could post the trips and pictures on, but it would just take time I don't have and I still consider Camaro5 "home". It has changed here, but I think we all knew that would happen. When I first posted on our trip to California in 2008, there only a few thousand memebers as I recall. Now it's many times that size. How much of the change is due to the "for profit" appearance? I think most sites are like that, but a couple of years ago, Camaro5 didn't have advertisers. Is that what has created the change? But it is still mostly focussed on a really great car that everyone here has in common. But on a good note..............no a great note...................the convertible is an awesome car and gets a ton of attention. Of course the attention comes like a switch, the switch that drops the top. I had many 5th gen drivers just drive on by when the top was up, but dropped? Tons of questions and comments. So just as a discussion starte, what could be done different here to make it "better" or more like the tight nit family it was a couple of years back? Any ideas that don't put all the work on Tran or the moderators?

the lack of respect people have towards each other is one reason I know it's been lost. ie the thread I was in recently where my point didn't come out clear but a huge argument progressed along with name calling. although the argument that ensued was my fault to a big extent the name calling started with the other individual labeled as a senior member. with only 200ish posts. doesn't matter either way. I'll still be around. Quote:

Ok, I have to fly to Germany on Saturday. Problem is I have a HUGE fear of flying. I'm at the Dr. office now waiting to see if he has a magic prescription he can give me.
I've flown many times including Asia twice and Germany several Years ago. Has anyone successfully overcome a fear of flying? Any suggestions?

so I probably shouldn't tell you all my stories from my days as a Navy helo crewman???
JK, I wouldn't do that to ya... even still, when I first started flying there were a couple things that really were hard to get used to... In the end it is about comfort. As an engineer by trade you have the ability to rationalize the physics behind the ability of a plane to fly... But that doesn't mean you are comfortable flying. The challenge for new crewman is to learn to trust the aircraft and to know what it can do safely... from that we build their confidence through repetition. Lots and lots of repetition... ![]() That probably doesn't help you much... but if you can build up your "comfort level" you can improve your ability to cope with your fear... I've seen kids who've never flown before AT ALL. Who are scared out of their minds the first time you put them in a helo, become some of the most competent crewman we had. ![]() FWIW. Have a great trip! anything cool going on???

Thanks, it should be good once on the ground. Going with some others I know so I won't be by myself which helps.
And you know just some future product business I can't talk about.

I Googled it and this one site suggested drinking a beer before the flight.
Not sure how good of a suggestion that is, but... ![]() Germany, eh? Germany = Nurburgring.

And in this case, Germany does not mean the 'ring. Dreamer.................and if I could just sleep on the plane, that would be perfect.
