Rod1 used that recipe for 12.01 in the quarter.
And your statement on the intake is relative. They don't make huge power gains regardless of the brand, and I imagine they're all relatively close in power. BBK didn't get evaluated by Janetty, CAI had the highest peak hp gain but the worst average(not by much on either). Some of us don't care to tuck our filter down and back where we can't have easy site/accessibility/install.

Nope, haven't taken mine to the track, yet (maybe this spring) and still on stock tires. I just can't help plugging ROD1 for the great job he's done.

Yea, I was trying to give you guys a plug, Y'all have done so much for the
V6 community. And I have to agree with usa1 some of us don't like to go hunting for the air filter, but I did think the injen got the best #'s I could be wrong. |

![]() Thanks, but the others really deserve any credit. I'm a new comer and I'm still trying to figure a lot about this new engine myself. They are actually out putting it on the track. I figured the best contribution I could make is on the FI front, and even that's stalled now.

Yea, Me too, I was ready for a supercharger. I really like this engine, I believe this engine has a lot of potential, and rod 1 and screaming have just scratched the surfaced of this little engine. When the aftermarket really gets ahold on this engine where some real testing can be done then I feel we will have a monster on our hands. I mean if you looks at the specs on this engine omg forged crank 4 bolt mains/cross bolts 4 valve cylinders heads dual overhead cams Looking at the specs just reminds me of race car stuff I really believe this little engine could make eazy 500-600 hp |

. I'm more worried about the tranny. ROD1 thinks it can take a lot more than I do. Of all of us, he's probably going to be the one to prove it. Other than that, yeah I'm really impressed with the engine. I think it's a MUCH bigger leap than when GM introduced the Vortecs (I loved that in one of my old trucks) and Ford introduced the Tritans (got that in my current truck). THIS IS THE FUTURE BABY!

This is what I posted at 6:27 this morning on another thread. Coincidence or great minds think alike. ![]() Items he has found out about this V6: 1. High Octane fuel is a must to produce all possible HP. 2. The incoming air temp. must be as low as possible when read by the MAF sensor because the IAT is located in the same controller 3. This engine likes to run rich not lean. 4. When making runs on a dyno, no reason to let the engine cool down first, the hotter the better (to a point). You are CORRECT. The INJEN produced the best HP proven by an independent tester. All the systems tested well. However, when it comes to producing HP the INJEN is at the top and they have the 1/4 mile times to prove it too. The INJEN has the top 5 out of 6 fastest ET's.

Sort of independent. Not sure idf a retailer of the tested products can be considered independent.

True enough, I just figured they were the only ones who stepped up and tested the four of them at once. Independent probably not. Just didn't list who it was. But they do get credit for doing it. Thank you JANNETTYRACING ![]() http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=96774 And we all know SCRMING tested a couple models at one time too. Thanks, John.

So does it matter who makes the long tube headers
I heard BBK makes a really good set and then i thought about a set of pypes cat back would make it sound good. |

I think BBK makes the best bang for your buck. I'm not sure what you are asking if it matters who makes the LT headers. It matters just as much as any other perfomance part made by multiple manufacturers. lol

One thing the Janetty testing didn't do was letting the cars set after running and then restart and see how long it took the IAT's to recover. The stock box and the Airaid had a hard time recovering... Where as with the IAT with the Injen recovered basically as soon as you start the car.... the benefit of drawing air from outside the engine bay and not from behind the hot radiator... and there was no Kool-Aid involved....
