Why would they have to redesign something that worked great....according to beta testers..Plus it added like 78hp. LOL.

Sometimes something seems better on paper but in the end, not so much.

This thead is from Dec 2009. It sure brings back memories.
Hundreds dying to get a Vararam intake, to just get rid of it later for something else. I'll probably get something to replace my Vararam sometime in the future. I've never really been very happy with mine.

Ok...I put about 1,500 miles on the final version of this CAI. It's flawless. Perfect working condition, perfect fit (radiator does not move as much), and NO BUCKING. I've had it in the car for a good three months now and have to say...I'm impressed!

Just my shared experience with the Vararam Super Street Version. I ran 13.04@107.41 stock. With the Vararam one week later, I ran 12.76 @ 109.24; no tune, no dyno, just at the track. My car is an A6-2011. What I don't know is whether or not I have the 2.75 or 3 inch filter. Maybe Steve can chime in. Again I have the Super Street Version.

I was never asked if I had the LS3 or L99 i.e. different sized filters what do I do now? Can I return it and get the newer one? I dont want a older outdated version if I just got it........

If you look at it there is only 2 screws in the new one(on the sides) the old one's had more if i remember right 8 screws, I have the old one and don't have a problem, But i like my beta unit better.

What is the difference between your old one and the beta?

Mainly it's filter type. They thought they had the problems down and it wasn't working. They changed out the filter and fiddled with the MAF's. The NEWEST one with the flat filter is the correct version now. I think it's the same size for all now...nothing should have changed. Maybe I'm wrong...but from what I understand, the super street is the super street.

I like some others saw this thread come up for the first time today. I read your first post and only looked at the 12-08 date and thought I've only had mine three weeks and they've made major changes...crap. I even sent a PM to VR that I had to amend, after seeing this was started in 09
