OBXR Headers Installed
I just wanted to say that i installed my OBX headers this weekend, it took me about 4 hours to do it alone and the dip stick wasn't to bad thanks to all the DIY threads that showed me what to look for and do so it wouldn't be so bad. Also I'm running no cats, no mufflers and so far no code. I have to say that I thought it would be too loud and I wouldn't like it, but I'm finding myself enjoying how it sounds more and more.
Thanks, Brandon Here is the vid Last edited by Smoky10; 12-13-2010 at 06:08 PM. |

Did you have to tune out the rear O2's? Most codes will take a little while. Hope you do not get any but probably will.
I have a set of XSPower headers I am waiting on install. We do need sound clip. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Bill |

I installed the rear O2 sensor extender, so hopefully it won't throw a code, or at least it won't throw one before I get the car tuned.

![]() What type of exhaust are you running, is it still the stock catback (LS3/L99)?

dude, please put up a video clip. I have a similar muffler set up as you (stock piping minus the mufflers and an added X pipe). i'm dying to pull the trigger on a set of 1 7/8 tubes but i've been waiting on people who've already bought this particular brand of headers to install them so i can get some good feedback.
did you notice a noticeable gain in HP or torque? did you loose more low end torque? thanks in advanced for the feedback man. Al |

The quality of the headers is outstanding isn't it? Another satisfied OBX owner and you were able to save some money in the process too!

This has got to be EXTREMELY loud. No cats or mufflers would drive me bonkers, but to each his own. I hope you have VERY understanding neighbors,

Yeah, it has some drone, but sounds like a real muscle car. At idle it is pretty tame though. With the headers and updated tune, it was very different with increase of both horsepower and low end torque. I am really happy about the setup so if you are thinking about a setup like this. Go ahead and enjoy!!
