I think that there is a lot of bitterness due to the shape of the US economy and GM. More bitterness comes from people hating dealers because so many of them are idiots. Even more comes from the fact that a pony car community is bound to have strong loyalty to American brands, and Nissan is not one of those brands. Let's also add the recent GT-R problems and scandal over the transmission.

Basically, he is going to work for a non-American idiot dealer who sells cars with exploding transmissions at a time when we should be supporting American brands. I think that is a fair synopsis of the opinion toward Infiniti's parent company.

To be honest I am keeping my options open, mostly because of the enormous hit in depreciation that this car is going to take. I'm 90% sure I'm still going to get it, but let's all be honest - in 5 years this car is going to be worth nothing. Not saying that I intend to sell after 5 years, but still.

We'll see how I feel after I see it in Philly on Saturday.

Its unbelievable to me that in times like these we still have so called americans on an american icon forum spewing anti american hate. It seems if we have opinions against non american car companies we get shouted down. Some of you guys are hypocrites at best. Intereex says die hard general motors under his name yet his post is so anti GM its disgusting. It sickness me to see the callous nature of americans toward america! I was not born here and I would die for this land!

I don't see how he said anything that would qualify as "anti-american hate" in that post. He has some very valid points.

I worked for them for 32 years and your anti American is this GM has sent all the assemblies out of this country CANADA MEXICO KOREA CHINA while the competition has moved there assemblies to the states..GM is foreign to me I am sorry but they are not American in my eyes anymore.. And I do drive GM . but look next time where the parts come from Engine Mexico transmission Italy wheels JAPAN WIRE HARNESS CHINA NONE OF IT IS HERE NO MORE. So they are a foreign auto company.....

what does being built in canada have to do with anything the car is an american car produced by an american company. Which is vital to the american economy. That's not kool- aid fools. Its the truth. The non - chalant attitude that many americans hold to american companies of all kinds is the reason we are were we are now. We have become a consumerist nation which barely produces a thing. If this continues and the auto companies dissapear we will have nothing to sand on in the bussiness world. The rest of the world will own us.

Jokes aside, I largely agree with you ArcAngel but don't be so hasty when to call people un-american.

What people fail to recognize is that the manufacturing jobs are only a piece of the pie. So yea, some wire harness may be manufactured in China by some minimally paid child but the wire harness was likely specd out by a relatively highly paid engineer here in the states. That's the kind of jobs we need. Also, a vast majority of the investors (e.g. owners) are american so any return on investment will come back here as well. And more of GM's vehicles are made here than any other company's. So just because toyota decides to make a couple of their high volume vehicles here doesn't mean that they're making more cars here.

They went in with the Japs in the 80's were you even born yet? This has not happen over night . The big corporations have sent the work out of the states for a long time now. So you are yelling at the wrong person. All the factories have been leaving since the nineties were you born yet? So don't yell at me you need to yell at GM.
