Heated seats dry out the leather faster?

In Florida I use my heated seats about 20 days a year. I keep thinking I need to use more protectant to keep the leather from aging more quickly. Anyone else worry about this or did GM take this into account when they designed the seats?

Anyone keep the buns toasty for longer than a half hour straight?

whether it does or not, use Lexol leather conditioner every few months and forget about it. Takes 1 minute per seat to wipe with lexol.

We have an 03 explorer with heated seats and my wife uses them all the time. Doesnt seem to effect it but we do use leather conditioner from time to time.

Don't worry about it. I have a Trailblazer SS and use them almost daily for 3 years.. haven't noticed any issues with the leather and I rarely condition it. Pretty sure it's the same type of leather.

No more than the Florida sun beating down on it. Just keep it conditioned.

You need heated seats in Florida. That's funny right there. I don't care who you are.

I would say the Florida heat will do them in far quicker than the heaters in the seats.

Hey, 45 degrees is damn cold (when you don't own a jacket).

Direct sun is a non issue due to the Camaro's tiny (and tinted) windows. But, upon recollection, the summer heat probably cooks the seats more than a seat heater, even though it's mostly parked in a garage at home and at work.

I'll just keep up with the Zaino leather protectant.

I feel safe using the Zaino cleaner and moisturizer every few months. Maybe a an extra time in the middle of summer.
