Consider where in the powerband you will spend the majority of your time and what would benefit how you drive your car the most. Do you have an automatic or manual? Automatic and daily driver, I say positive displacement; but manual and love to rip from a roll or take it to the track then I'd lean towards a centri. Both are great pieces and will make stupid amounts of power, and both have their respective places.

Well we'd need to compare boost curves of both to draw a proper conclusion, but everything I've read suggests the centri will be at least marginally more efficient than a screw, at least in higher boost/cfm levels. Of course, comparing 12 psi to 12 psi (i.e., typical stock engine configuration), the differences will be quite small. Only differences would be the torque curve, influenced mainly by what rpm the charger starts producing boost.

KB has had a very problematic past with their head units, but so has procharger.

It's a lose/lose

well its a stick, and I am not so much a tear out of the hole guy but more of the passing power and track power. The thing is if I run a procharger I have to get a bigger intake manifold where as if I get a twin screw then I just have to adjut the CAI.

I guess I will be the first to ask the questions that would allow you to properly choose the setup that would work best for you?
  • What are your Current and Future HP goals?
  • Is this a Daily Driven Street car, or a weekend cruiser? If both, what is the percentage?
  • Do you track the Car? If So, how often?
  • How do you normally drive? Do you wring the motors neck, and take it to redline often; or do you have a tendancy to shift in the mid to high 5K rpm band?
  • Is this your first boosted car?
  • Are you mechanically inclined?
  • Do you do all of your own work?
  • Are you a set it, and forget it guy; or do you tinker.
  • Do you like the low-mid rpm, extremely hard hit in your power band; or do you like a higher rpm hard hit at the much higher RPM levels?
  • If you like both, where do you "Prefer" most of the power to be. Guys like myself, like to feel that nitrous hit when I stab the throttle. Other guys like the more progressive hit.
By answering these questions, it will give everyone (with the exception of a few guys) a much better idea of which blower is best for you.

Contraty to the belief of some of the more bias who just feel it necessary to say they both suck, and both have issues. The fact of the matter is, is Procharger is the winningest centrifugal supercharger on the planet. It holds more world records than any other Centri, by a long shot. The KB twin screw is on more street cars than ANY other twin screw on the planet. They sell significantly more kits than all other twin screws combined. They are also on more LS cars than any other twin screw. There are more KB twin screws with over 150K miles on them, than any other twin screw on the planet.

Being as you just learned of the Whipple. They should do quite well on these cars. They seem to be a really good looking, and well designed system. Its my understanding that they have had more than a few destroyed head units in recent months, but I think that is because they are working with a newly designed system. They should have it corrected, and making great power very soon. I wouldnt count them out of your considerations.

Just whatever you do, DO NOT buy based off of the 9 million reccomendations you will get. 8.999 million of those reccomendations, will be based off of what that particular person purchased. This also includes vendors. We ALL have personal preferences. Wether it be sponsorships, profits, buddys, etc, the reccomendation is not always based on "Your" needs. I would suggest reading up on the "Non Marketing" material, as well as magazine editorials. Make your decision that best fits your needs. Take ALL of our advice, and come up with your decision. Toss cost completely out the window, until you have narrowed it down. Then, compare everything, and pull the trigger.

In the end, regardless of what you do, they will ALL give you the ride of your life!!!!
