The Camaro V6 is faster than the ES but not the IS(0-60 in 6.3-6.5 for ES, 4.9-5.2 for IS; Camaro 0-60 in 5.8-6.1). The figure from Lexus of 0-60 in 5.6 is ultra-conservative and inaccurate unless you leave stability control on and drive like an 78 year old. The IS has never been fwd, the IS350 runs mid-13s and the 1/4 mile and has a lower first gear than the V8 powered 8-speed IS-F(the IS350 has a 6-speed). The IS350 is the fastest Lexus besides the IS-F and LFA supercar. I never considered buying the IS350 over my G because the IS just didn't offer near as much tech, was ridiculously over-priced, was boring to drive(doughy steering, rolled too much in corners, brakes felt wooden), and just felt boring... felt almost as if you were driving around town and in a small rwd Camry with alot of power when I test drove one. The IS300 gets like 16/22 mpg and has a 215 hp 3.0 liter Inline 6.(just mentioned mileage because of how horrific it is) The IS350 get's 19/26 mpg and has a 306 hp 3.5 liter V6. The IS350 weighs only a tad more and is much faster.

I would get the Lexus because of the original styling.
