Mine is relocated in the rear seat shelf. plenty of room between trunk and interior panel works great and wiring harness is long enough to plug it right back in.

As for hole in roof my dealer did the body work its perfect!
In my opinion changes the whole look of car

This is one of those DUH moments. Since I don't use Onstar or XM, I think I'll just remove and plug it.

I removed my antenna today. I think I'm going to try an internal flush patch for the hole.

No, because I'm still deciding on how to make it. But the idea is to use metal plate and cut out a peice to fit the hole and then add it to a larger plate and the use silicone sealer or aircraft sealer ( Pro-seal ) to attach it to the under side. It will be removable should a person decide to re-install the antenna.

If I had access to a milling machine I would mill it out of a square aluminum plate. I'm going to paint it before I install it. I won't be able to get to it until next week or so. The simplest way is to plug it like you have and if my idea doesn't work that's what I will do.

Did you mount the antenna in your mirror yet?

No problem i started moving the wires from the roof man that is some work it will be better for the convertible cars, Any way here is some pics, Had to cut some tape and reroute the 3 coax wires i am to mid point of the front seat, But the way i connected the XM antenna and put it on the outside mirror and it work fine in my garage with the door closed.(garage door closed)

Thanks for the pictures. I was hoping the wires were routed by way of the windshield pillar which would have made it easier, but no...

I got the some time off today so I worked on my flush patch. I had some 2 inch by .125 inch flat aluminum bar that was acquired at Lowes a while back. I wittled it down with a vixen file to form the raised square for the plug ( wish I had a milling machine ). This took about three hours. It would be almost worth it to go to a machine shop with a drawing.

Anyhow, here is the unpainted plug installed with tape for the picture and a picture of the plug itself. I have a lousy camera so the pictures aren't that great.
