The Camaro's still 'top dawg'. Do you have a problem with that?

Well I would say the Camaro is not top dawg as far as straight line goes. It was a good year though

Very cool reply 65, I wasn't expecting that. On the other hand I think the 5.0 was somewhere on Fords back burner for a long time prior to the Camaro. There was just no reason to produce it. The Camaro coming out at so high a hp rating gave them a reason. If I remember right they had started to slate them for dpi which was a quite a bit faster but dropped it due to expense. It sure didnt need it anyway!

I certainly don't think 12's with bolt-ons for the 4.6 was the norm. I am sure it was done, similiar to some peoples cars hitting 12's stock or LS1's doing it with cai and exhaust. It just wasn't normal.

I thought the old 5.0 was the best engine ford ever produced. So easy to make huge power at so little a cost. They were also pretty dang bullet proof right from the lot. Maybe it was just my memory of the primared pos pulling up next to my z-28 and blowing my doors off.

To be honest I am doing a lot of reading on the 5.0 It has so many advantages and was very well thought out. There is really no shortfalls other then brand loyalty. The only thing that irks me is all the forums lump them in with the 05+.

In 2010 I would say it was. The only other true muscle car out then was the 4.6 Mustang

I guess you could count the 370z or the g37 if you wanted.

Seems like there was another manufacturer producing something but it was so highly priced I can't remember what it was.. Meh it was slow and heavy anyway so no big loss in not remembering!

This was "top dawg" in 2010 and still is. As far as the pony car segment goes anyway. . .

Hah, hahhh, Very funny. Can't speak for other's cars but my RT will hang with any stock SS. Let's see... What's one of the biggest universal complaints about the Camaro... It was its weight I believe, like 200-300 lbs less than the Challenger and about 300 more than the Mustang.

I guess you don't know much about muscle cars considering you're putting Nissan's in that group. I'm not a paper racer so spare me all the Road & Track BS.

Nothing in that post was serious AZ. I guess it's hard to be sarcastic when typing.

I like the dodges and I have owned a few. Except for the high price, time periods for cracking the ecm/tcm, and the extreme crap run of dashes in the ram they are pretty solid. I loved the fact they made an SRT-10 ram. If it hadn't got 9 miles to the gallon I would probably still own it.

Yeah the GT500 is one bad machine..

The 2010 GT500 is a performance piece of garbage, that car can't even put all it's power to the pavement, until it gets into 3rd gear.

Shelby/Ford SVT produced an EPIC fail in 2010.

I try to be cool and rational, so thank you. Before the Camaro and Challlenger came out the rumors were the Mustang was getting a new V8 in 2014 for the 50th Anniversary. Of course I have no idea if that was the actual plan.

You're right. It wasn't the norm, but a few did pull it off. Intake and tune was my first performance mod, and I'll admit I didn't do it.

It is supposed to harken back to the old 5.0. IMO, it does. It's darn good stock, mods easy, and is very affordable, just like the old ones were. Time will tell if it's also as reliable and bullet proof.

One of the Mustang forums I go to does have a separate 5.0 section. PM me and I'll give you address. I don't know if it's cool to post it on the open forum.

"performance garbage"......chuckle, chuckle. I wouldn't call a factory car that run's 11's all stock, performance garbage but that's just my opinion.

That's like saying the Grand National was an epic fail because it wouldn't hook up also. Or ALL muscle car's, because they had bias ply tires back in the 60's and couldn't hook up as well, do their tires make them an epic fail's also? How about a 2010 who's goodyears went bald and replaced with invo's or something G2's is that still an epic fail of a car?

I'm just one of those rare average drivers with a Stock 2010 SS in the 12's. I like the Mustang just the way it is. However, I'm hearing the back of them are ugly. Wouldn't know personally.

Compared to what? A 2010 gt500 will rape a stock ss with similar driving. Stock '10 gt500s have gone 11's with 120 traps. Why do you think GM is making a z28?
