Did you expect it to be lighter than the coupe?

+1, convertibles are always heavier than their counterparts.

That depends entirely on what you expect of the car in terms of safety, size, etc...despite all the rhetoric, the SS is right in line with other cars sporting a similar formula of V8, RWD + IRS...

Convertibles always weigh more than their coupe counter part. If the coupe weighted 200 pounds less it would cost $5000 more.

Does it really matter? You don't race in the verts anyway. You drive around, look and sound nice while enjoying the fresh air.
