What do the stock SS/RS daytime running lights look like?

I know the headlights will be HID with the Halo ring, but will the daytime running lights be yellow? Im concerned that they may not match.

Just a thought I had while waiting to take delivery.

No they will not be yellow. The front turn signals are yellowish, orange. The lights that come on in the day are the very lower lights. And what are you concerned about them matching?

The DRLs are soft white low watt low output lights. There are various foglight and LED conversion kits for them. IMHO I think they are virtually useless and should have been fog lights/driving lights on the low beam or optional switch. I wish they were reprogrammed so they could be tied into the regular headlights and not automatic. Other threads state that they are setup this way because it is a Canadian requirement.

I want the DRLs to match the Headlights (HIDS)

Well they won'e exactly match as the HID's are a blueish color as you know. The DRL's are just regular white light. I'm sure you could have them changed but, bear in mind the HID's color changes a bit after startup. Become less blueish after a few mins.

I won't be changing mine, but I think the DRL's would look good with an orange LED setup in there. GM had such a neat thing going on with the halo headlamps and HID's and then they cheaped out and gave us DRL-only running lights that can't be controlled with a switch. Arrgh!

No one will notice if they match, they do not operate at the same time.

Factory, correct, but there are plenty of mods that allow it. My DRLs are always on. Factory bulbs do have a slight yellow tint and are not "white".

Got a link to the mod to allow daytime and night time lights?
