No on engine, yes on body damage from said accident, but your collision deductible would apply.

I am a manager for a large insurance carrier claims office and an easy way to remember this is the insurance covers the results of the wreck and not the cause. For example if you have a flat tire and have a wreck because of the flat tire then your inusrance will pay for the damages but not the tire. Another example let's say that you have a fire in your engine compartment due to a faulty alternator it would pay for the damage caused by the fire but the alternator would not be covered.

Depends on what's it's from. Lack of maintenance then no but if it locked up for internal failure then yes.
