Im no worried about price so much, mostly the interior sound in the cabin. Something that wont make a newborn tone def like my mbrp/kooks setup.

The Magnaflow will be good for you. Either the 2.5" or 3"....it's just that the 3" has a little more of a deeper rumble when it's at idle.

My original setup was a Muffler delete + a resonated x-pipe. I wasn't horribly loud but did have some of the drone and alot of decel pop. Once I went with LTs I went over to the 3" Magnaflow and all that went away. I haven't heard any drone and the decel popping is virtually gone. You can still hear some popping every once in a while but it very mellow and much harder to hear.

I think either one on those systems will be good to use. It's just the amount of money do you want to spend and if you want a little more deep rumble or not.

The 3" Magnaflow + LTs is a pretty common setup. You should be able to find someone in your area to listen to it in person.

Your only other options will probably be to go with the stock cat-back with your LTs or maybe a Corsa system.

Yeah, this is a very real old thread. The video has been gone for a long time. If I get a chance I'll try to make another one.

But trust me, the Magnaflow Street 2.5 is as quiet as it gets. You get the two regular magnaflow mufflers plus a resonated X pipe.

But as mentioned, its the perfect catback for guys with long tube headers looking to keep the noise level in check. But I like to warn people. If you don't have long tube headers you probably won't like the Magnaflow Street catback, because it will be just too quiet.

SGO, I'm thinking about either Corsa or Magna Flow CB. What is the Part No. for your setup? Also, I see you picked up a little in the quarter. Is that b/c of the TB or the catback? Thinks for the infor Bro.

The Corsa will be a lot louder. Corsa a great exhaust (I've had Corsa catbacks on some of my previous cars), but the Corsa catback is considerably louder than the Magnaflow Street Catback.

Check with JDP Motorsports for some of the best pricing on Magnaflow.

Is the 3inch Mag Catback much louder than the 2.5inch? I like the x-pipe with that kit. But I don't want my car loud. Chime in please!!!

It's not a lot louder, but its noticeably louder. Both have a low Magnaflow rumble to them, but the Magnaflow Street comes with the resonated X pipe that quiets the exhaust down even further.

Neither system is loud all by themselves. But especially with headers, the 3'' System is definitely louder than the 2.5 Street system.

SGO, did you dyno car after adding the Magna Flo setup? If so, did you realize any gain? Catback should be worth 10hp/15tq. I seen you went faster in the quarter for some reasnon. I have almost the same setup as you except for catback, TB, and Nittos. I ran a best of 12.26 at 113.58. My 60ft was 1.83 and it was very cold to us here-39 ambient temps. I m really looking at the 3inch CB if the cabin noise is tolerable-I like mean sounds, not noise. Man, thanks for your positive feedback, it really helps.

Carverman, do you have any drone with the 3inch Magna CB? I see you have the M6. I know it is diff. with the A6 b/c of the AFM. Did you realize any gains in the quarter or dyno? Please chime in.

I haven't heard any drone so far. Back when I had my first setup (muffler delete/resonated x-pipe) there was a hill near my parents house and almost every time I went up it I would hear a little drone. Nothing that bad and you could easily let out of the gas a little or get into the gas a little and it would go away.

With the 3" Magnaflow I get no drone over that same hill. I don't get on the highway but every once in a while and I can't remember any drone when I did.

Decel popping on the other hand with the muffler delete was pretty prominent. That's pretty much all gone with the 3" Magnaflow as well. Personally I wasn't a fan of the decel popping. I bet the 2.5" would be the same.

As far as picking up HP.....don't know. I put on LTs, the 3" Magnaflow, and a tune all at once. That completely changed the car. I picked up over 1/2 a second in the 1/8th mile with crappy launches (2.1 - 2.2 60'). I'm hoping to do even better when the track opens up in March. I need more seat time.

I don't think you are really going to see any noticable HP increase over either one. Cat-backs are mostly for sound. You might get a little but very little. Don't bet on the 10-15 rwhp claims.....that's just been my experience. And the HP difference betwwen the Magnaflow 2.5" vs 3" will probably be nothing.

I definately like the sound of the 3" Magnaflow with LTs. It's not that loud unless you're getting on it and even then it's not something that's going to blow you....or the neighbors....away. Nothing that's going to cause the cops to come looking for you either.

I agree...if you are looking for the quietest then either do the 2.5" or go back to stock cat-back with the LTs. If you want a good middle of the ground...not too quiet but not to loud....I would go with the 3". There is a reason why the 3" is so popular with a set of LTs.

Again...I'm not knocking the 2.5" system. It's just all in what you want for the sound. Personally I wouldn't want it any quieter and I love the deep rumble that it settles into at idle....but again that's just me.

Call JDP Motorsports (www.MagnaflowPlus.com) and talk with them. They sell a bunch of Magnaflow stuff. Ask them what's more popular and what their experience with the two systems are. Get a price on both systems while you're talking with them. They're one of the cheapest authorized dealers around.

ADM Performance pretty much only sells the Magnaflow 3". Call and talk to Andy...and call and talk to Ted over at Jenetty as well. See what they recommend and why.

Thanks for the info gentlemen. I want a deeper tone and rumble, and may go with the 3inch.
