"but just an fyi just because you get found not guilty doesnt mean that police can stop writing you...they can write you over and over again "

Curious that if he keeps getting pulled over for having legal tail lights, isn't that harassment?????

If I rob a bank and get caught over and over again, is that harassment?

I've never fully understood why anyone would want to make a car journey any more dangerous than it already is, by reducing the visibility of their lights. I like the look of the stock 5th gen lights. Take the tints off and pocket the cash you would be paying in fines.

If you get arrested over and over for robbing banks and are found INNOCENT, it is harassment.

I'd be more afraid of getting into an accident with injuries and having that persons attorney find I had tinted tail lights making me harder to see.

That right there is the biggest concern about tinting tail lights. A "fix it" ticket is nothing compared to what an injury lawyer would get out of you. Plain and simple here it is:

If ANYTHING is covering your tail lights and you get into an accident, you WILL be found to be at fault because the other person could not see your tail lights.

Doesn't matter if you swear that they can be seen from 1,000 feet away. If ANYTHING is covering them it is illegal and not DOT approves.

This is why I always turn my lights on when driving my car. They glow red when the lights are on.

Never understood the motive of tinted lights. Why would you do something to your car to make it less safe and less visible?

Thats why my State started making things more cut and dry. Now unless you have a waiver you aren't allowed to have any tint on your side windows or any "tinted" material over your license plate or any light not to its original design you can change lights but you can't change how that light was designed ie., cover it over to lessen its function DOT approved it for the way it was designed once you mess with it, that becomes null and void. The OP is most likely doomed..

wishful thinking,, you want the judge to overturn a DOT reg.?? i dont think thats gonna happen....at the very least,,",claim guilty with and explanation"...tell the judge you just came from a car show...forgot to remove the tint as a show car...and then keep it off avoid more crap..

What if your rear lights are tinted but the brake light behind the rear window is in plain (untinted) view. Do you think an injury lawyer would be able to claim you were at fault when you got rear ended?

I will admit I like the look on your car but.....
Another C5 member lives down the road from me and the only things I think he hasn't made black on that car are the rotors and the white letters on one of our State's black and white antique license plates. Its a cool look.
