If they decide to tell us to stop speculating and then don't deliever, it's going to be a huge blow. Not so much that it's ABL, but it's GM promising something and not delivering. Their credibility is on the line.

It's not what I deserve, it's what everyone deserves. People who upgraded solely for ABL may be royally pissed.

Hey guy's, how's everbody doing? Personally if one of the few reasons why you're buying a camaro is because of the ambient lighting then that's really too bad. I apologize for GM if this truly makes you not want the camaro, I on the other hand love this car for its many attributes and not just one thing specific. As has been said or addressed in other threads, opinions are like a$$holes and most peoples stink. I believe, and if this truly is the case that GM will come forward and make restitution for everyone who is worried about lighting on the inside of their car that they will personally issue a blue flashlight so whenever someone passes you on the road, you can tell them you have ABL. Oh, I'm sorry, first you have to stop the car that passed you and tell them how you got ripped off by GM and how they took advantage of you. Think about it people, life isn't always fair and I believe up until this point and even beyond GM has told us a hell of a lot more than they ever needed to. So having said this, if all of the people who are upset about ambient lighting, please do GM, me, and every other true full blooded camaro lover a favor and try to find a better deal for the money some place else. RIP

Like what? There's nothing they've told us that we shouldn't already know by now. For example, I can go to the Mustang's website right now and learn everything about the car. If I go to the Camaro's website, I can learn about how I can order a new Camaro starting October 13th, 2008.

First of all, I'm assuming that you have preordered your new camaro. Secondly, Is it the suspence that's killing you or is it the fact you just can't get the info you want? Is or is not the dealer going to call you and ask you if what you ordered a few months ago is still what you want now? I understand you being upset, but you can't please everyone all the time anytime. One of the few things we don't know about this car is not only about the ABL, but about the SS version and it's times and braking distances. I personally like a lot of other people on this sight have a deposit on this car and like I said earlier if you or anyone else is upset to the point that this is a deal breaker for you then sir or ma'm, this is what makes america the greatest country in the world to live in. You have the opportunity to change your mind.

(^) "by now". They told us everything we know now...MONTHS ago. The revealed the production design in JULY!! 9 months before production. They've told us much more much earlier than any enthusiast group has ever been treated with. And don't undercut the Camaro site. It's not flashy and over-the-top like the Mustang's [needs to be], but you can learn everything about the car there, too. Name one thing you can't, and if there's no reason why; I'll concede the point.

I don't know why you would worry about them under-delivering. They know very well their reputation is on the line, and nothing that's come out recently has tanked, or disappointed. The Camaro shouldn't be any different, imo.

Last I checked Mustangs never went out of production. And it doesn't look to me like there is much more on Fords site about the 2010 Mustangs than Chevy has about the 2010 Camaro. Sure it would be nice to see some new stuff on their website, but why would they update a site for a car that isn't even being produced yet? I'd rather they keep focusing on getting the car out.

The production start date
The price of the individual options

I'm sure I can find more but those are easy ones. Please stop using the "they already told us more..." well if this were last July then yes. However now that we're this close to production, there shouldn't be features up in the air like this. All we have to go off of is rumor. All GM has done is further the rumors by making comments of "no comment". There should be no questions remaining when orders are being locked in for production.

Thank-You Dragoneye. Me being an owner of a camaro for the last 25 years 2nd, third, and a current owner of a fourth gen ss and to the future owners of the fifth gen, have a litlle faith. This car is awesome and having said that, I don't believe anyone will be dissappointed when they take delivery of their new car. GM is not going to let us down, after all we have not all been chevy owners over the last several years for nothing have we? See you all on the road in the future, and enjoy all of the qualities that make the camaro a great car. Salute.

I'd have to guess that many potential buyers are concerned about the resale value of their Camaro in the future if the car they owned is one of the few that were produced originally without this feature. It could be a deal breaker for a potential buyer of your used car when another seller does have the same car with the ABL feature and yours does not.
So...being that it has the possibility of costing money in the resale market later it is a valid concern. Especially when buyers are paying MSRP or more in the first place with no rebates, employee/supplier discount etc.
In this respect it would be nice if GM would pony up on this issue and quench the speculation one way or the other since we are getting to the point of people putting the money on the table for their new car.
