Teasing only occurs when someone bites the hanging carrot. Don't pin that one Number 3. Did it ever occur to you that you might be reading way too far into some playful banter taking place after stating explicitly he won't say anything?
I'm trying to keep my cool here, but there's no reasoning with you! Just....relax....Scott said they're working on it. Scott's been saying "keep the faith" for the past 7 years. I humbly suggest you do so. |

Actually that is saying to me that he doesn't care about your demands enough to compromise his job. Also, its not acting like a spoiled kid to wonder if you will get a feature you desire. It is childish to demand answers right now. Particularly when you have no idea whether that is even practicable.

I will press this issue(in ABL topics only) until we get an ABL response from a GM rep. Note that once again, this will not change my order but the information would help someone decide I'm sure. If they can demand money for a product, surely I can demand info about the product. This is still America, isn't? If no GM rep speaks up and ABL comes out perfectly, I invite everyone to ridicule me relentlessly for making a big deal out of nothing. Really throw down the insults. But if no GM rep speaks up and ABL doesn't appear or becomes less than what it was designed to be, I would hope that some here would have the nerve to speak up to the credibility of GM as a whole for continuing to advertise an option that doesn't exist how it is pictured right now on their website. |

ok for the people freaking out about ABL, if your so worried that the ABL wont make it to production then, pretend there isn't going to be available so you can.
1. change your order 2. Wait till they have the ABL ready and then make your order 3. have a beer and think everything will be ok. |

![]() Some info.....as in, "We think we'll have it done, but are unsure." OR..."We are heat/cold testing it as we speak and think we'll have it ready in time." OR..."Right now, there is not enough time for testing and we won't have it ready for the first model year." Dude....can it REALLY be this tough. I'm getting to that point as well. How can we not want answers when a "RUMOR" is started. Is GM trying to get a feel for those people that won't get ABL by letting us know there might be problems? Because, I mean...the only people who could ever know there was a problem would be the people working on the Camaro, right? Fine. Spread a rumor. But, don't get upset when people who want this option don't get an answer. We did pre-order. We pre-ordered and are expecting to pay for something that GM said would be in a car. If we don't pre-order, what happens? We lose our chance in line. So, we wait...wait for answers...and others get in line ahead of us....and then, BAM! GM says it's a go. Well, there goes our order. Yes, for some, the ABL makes the interior. Ok. Fine. You want to know my take? Here. I'm not a big fan of the center stack. The HVAC and radio controls are not my favorite. They are just okay to me. No biggie. I don't "hate" them. But, I think they could have been done better. The gauge cluster? Freakin' brilliant. I mean...WOW! But, the center stack? Meh. So...what happens when ABL is tossed into the mix. Yes. That's right. I, this is MY OPINION...I think that the ABL really helps to sell the interior. I think it does a LOT for the interior. I think that for my car, it is going to make it that much more for me. So... Yes. ABL is important for me. And yes, it was shown by GM on the video, in many picutres, in ordering material, etc, etc, etc. So, it was a PLANNED item for GM to be in the Camaro. For those that like it so much, PLEASE understand that this is simply more that just a "light" for us. Quote:

Wow, It wasn't my intentions to start this up. I was just relaying info that was passed on to me...As far as the "IDL last week", that's how it was passed to me, whether it was an IDL or dealer training...I don't know. My opinion is, the more info that we have; right, wrong or indifferent; makes us more prepared for anything that may arise. I don't want anything to happen to already stated features of this car, in fact, the features were a large deciding factor of the car for me. If it doesn't have ABL...ok, so be it, I'll be a little pissed but it won't end the world for me. Again everyone, I'm sorry, I didn't intend to start or reignight a war.

Hey guys, I just heard from my brothers, cousins, neighbors, friend, that when she was at the store, she overheard a poodle speak to its owner that when it was out in the yard, the neighbors dog heard its owner was a government insider, who said at the lunch table, the sky is falling. What do you guys think? I just don't want to overreact here, but Someone else said we should go inside for shelter. Anybody hear anything different?

OK, I have a couple thoughts here.
1: No one has actually paid, in full, for their Camaro. So, that means if GM can't deliver the car as intended then everyone who isn't going to get what was planned will either be able to get a discount (Are you listening GM?) or worst case pull out all together. Again, my point is GM will/should make it up to the consumer somehow. Something like, Pay the original MSRP and bring the car back once we have ABL working correctly to have it installed at no charge. In my opinion if it isn't as advertised then GM should make it up to the customer. 2: We all need to understand the project side of this. No project runs perfectly. There are always problems some larger than others. And when a project is at risk of falling short by either going over budget (raising the price of the Camaro), getting behind schedule (Delay SORP to March16th), or reduced capability (ABL concerns), the project team will do everything they can to try and overcome the shortfall. I say this to only to help people understand why GM isn't being transparent about the problem. It's most likely due to the fact that they don't know yet if they can overcome the issue. Budget is good as they haven't raised the prise. The schedule did slip as the car as been delayed. And the capability or deliverables may be reduced as ABL might not be what was originally intended. I'm not trying to diminish the importance of ABL in any way. And those that want it are eventually entitled to an explanation when there is a definitive answer. But, please acknowledge that GM is working their asses off to get it right. And they don't take this lightly. But may have to make the tough decision to reduce the projects scope... This is never easy, trust me, I've been there. I hate letting my customer down or reducing their expectations. And GM even more so. They are fighting for their lives in a cut throat industry. The very last thing they want to do is disappoint potential buyers. So, please view the big picture. Be concerned, even upset. And hold GM accountable when the time comes. But for now lets hope for the best and cheer GM on as they try to get this right for us. We'll deal with the bad stuff when we and they know for sure it's really bad.

the only thing on the Camaro site you can't do yet. I believe (and I might be wrong) is the 360 views of the exterior and interior, aren't up yet... Not to kill you point... just hoping someone from Chevy reads this lol. Also Tag, I agree with you on your points. But the only info we've received was that there was issues testing the system. I dont think anyone other then the Internet rumor mill has said anything about a delay right? Yes the ABL will MAKE my interior... can you imagine... CGM exterior... Black on black interior with a blue ABL system.... the car is the definition of sex! |
