Nonetheless, the L92 is NOT the ls3, just as the L76 was NOT the ls2, and until we are given an engine code for the gen v DI motor, "the di motor from the vette" is as good a moniker as any.

Not to nitpick.....the biggest difference between the LS3 and L92 is revised intake runners and oilpan to suit its compact placement in a car...and a better reference to the new engine is:

Gen V Small Block Chevy.

That is the new line of engines, and as DGthe3 is trying to point out, there will be many variations, just like today.

Understood, at this point we are arguing semantics and agree to disagree as to what or how the engine will be referred to, until the actual nomenclature is revealed.

Fair enough.

EDIT: Here's a link to what we know about this new line of engines so far.

What we know now is part of the future speculation.

Reading the comments from 2008 was actually very interesting knowing what we know now about the ZL1, Z/28, C6 Z06 and C7 Z06.

The 427 LS7 is just living to close to the edge....

The LSA has proven to be a much better engine in the long run.

Funny thing, i think the z28 would be an even better performer with the lsa, or ls9!

More so now that these cars belong to their second and third owners who don't know the history. I've got too much time on my hands.

Styx anyone?
