If I thought you were actually racing I would have pulled you over or radioed ahead to someone else to do so. My guess is the guy was on an ego trip and pissed off he doesnt own one of these cars and just wanted to flex a little muscle

Traffic was moderate not too crazy. In NY people like to cruise in the left lane so I had to pass a couple people on the right but I did not chase after those two maniacs.

A minute later a brand new F150 Pickup pulls up behind me and I can see red and blue lights in his grille (turned off). He proceeds to follow me on my ass all the way to the exit for my office which is backed up with traffic. He pulls up next to me honks and rolls down the window flashes a larger gold badge at me and says "What the **** is wrong with you racing with that red car". I replied, "Sir I wasn't racing with anyone, I don't do stuff like that, It was a black BMW you saw, not me". He says "yeah right" and pulls away.

I looked on google for the badge, it looked kinda like an ATF badge or something, I wish I could remember better. But what a jerk, just because I have a fast black car and 2 idiots were racing ahead of me does not mean I was racing with them. This guy needs to mind his own business. If he had pushed it further I would have hit OnStar Emergency and contacted the State Police to sort it out.

if "brick tamland" was in that other car,i am sure you would have had a much more subdued attitude towards him!..who knows!..he could have been wearin' his special slacks!..just sayin!

Maybe he couldn't catch the BMWs to warn them?

I guess that's what you get for driving in a respectable manner.

Good for you. You were the good guy in this story.

Sounds like a mall ninja. If it was a real cop, his powers of observation suck. I haven't seen too many unmarked pickup trucks on LI.

I think most cops are actually really good people who help to keep us safe. I think there are few bad apples out there though that give them all a bad rep. It sounds like this one was a bad apple.

Dept is now paying for the damage they caused. Whole thing was caught on security camera and 6 days later. STILL no apology from the one who did it just from the officer handling my case and getting it paid for.
Where did this happen?? I live and work Clearwater/St. Pete.

Woo hoo! Another cop thread! Good people of Camaro5, thank you for bringing the cop bashing posts to our attention. We'll be sure to ... take care of those posts which need attention.

Whatever, it happens. Just gotta keep on the lookout. A few weeks back i had a patrol car follow me for 2 miles right into my private gated neighborhood directly to my driveway for no reason. I told him he was out of his jurisdiction and wasn't even allowed by county ordinance to be in my neighborhood. Told him my neighbor was a state trooper and i'd be happy to go get him to prove the point. Officer promptly left and i watched him drive directly out of the neighborhood without saying a word to me. I did however manage to snap a cell photo of the car number for later.

Just gotta roll with it.
Did ya ever think that he was admiring your car? Maybe checking out your "other goodies"? Maybe he is even a member here. Maybe, he even wanted to induct you into the C5 "family". If he didn't say a word to you before you told him off, you'll never know. What are the chances that when you leave your gated community and enter into "his" jurisdiction that he might remember you ? There cant be that many '11 RED 1ss's in your area. So when he sees you, maybe goin 5 over the limit, what do ya think the chances are he's gonna use discretion and give you a break? Maybe you can show your cell phone picture of him to him.
Relax, not all cops are dicks, give them a chance and you might find that we are even human. A word to the wise though, cops have very long memories, treat one like a dick and you can be sure he will respond in kind if he can.

Off 140th ave right near the county jail. Totally sucked and i was parked way way over from the line in my parking spot. Guy pulled in right on top of me then left a little bit later. Checked on my car and saw the damage.

Your one of those people huh? Broad generalizations, speak boldly from the cover of anonymity of a chat forum, all cops are the same, blah, blah, blah. Sounds like you've been drinking Governor Christie's Kool Aide. Dude, theres alot of cops on this forum, we are supposed to be part of "family" no matter what we do for a living. My guess is all your dealings with the PO- lice have been negative. Betcha might even have a few points on your license. Relax, don't lump us all in the same heap. Sure there are dick cops...along with dick mechanics, accountants, attorneys, doctors, and even, hard to believe, car salesmen. You'll do alot better for yourself if you treat people the way you want to be treated, including cops and maybe you'll be treated the same in return. Maybe not but you should at least give it a shot.... So you say you live in Jersey huh?
