Answer to "which rendition looks better"; I'd like to see an "unmarked" version, with the red/blue lights hidden behind the grill.

And to share some thoughts on cops/driving; (Again, I'll chalk this up to getting older)

Lights-on; I get out of the way as quickly as possible!

Lights-off; 1. Make sure I'm doing the speed limit.
2. Let them pass.
3. Smile

Don't forget, when they're driving a little more aggressively than we like, (and their lights are off), consider that they may be headed to a call, where they have to arrive "unannounced", they may have to make a court date, or there is some other reason which we're unaware of.

Lets give them a little respect and a break. They do alot to make our lives better and safer.

TAG UR IT is right and so is Moose, I see plenty of officers in their "units" driving worse than if it was a rental car....But I also see plenty of others who aren't in squad cars that aren't officers. I think most officers have a special drivers course training they must pass, thus making them better at driving safe when it appears erradic.

wow necro-posting. I like the photoshops.
and as for cops driving eradically, don't even get me started with Bakerfield PD.
although there's perks to it becuse they don't really pulll over people for speeding, since they are usually going faster than the people who are speeding.

I agree with both of you guys, after 26 years behind the wheel of a cop car, I find myself reacting defensively more and more...esp from unatentive drivers on cell phones, loud stereos, etc and people who just drive offensively....Respectfully to some of our negative posters here about cops, but we're multi-tasking(listening to calls going out, updates on radio and MDT, thinking of how to handle a call, etc..) for upwards of 12 hours a day in these cars and fow a few minutes you see us weaving in and around traffic...lets talk about benefit of the doubt until you gotta go though it day after day...

It's not that. I have the outmost respect for police officers and I know they have a tough job, but if you ever meet the Bakersfield PD you'll understand. I lived in three different places and one of them was L.A. and I 've never seen cops drive like they do here.
